Forging Memories
A Poem of Remembering Friends
by BlueFheiry

How truly spacious is a human mind?
Was it bigger than any human heart,
that it can encompass memories from behind
and leave some more space after that?
When lost young years had gone
and all you keep inside is a sigh,
that every treasure and every fun
is hidden secretly but raised on high.
People you meet come and go
but when they leave, they remain
a little room inside your heart or so
filled with longing to find them again.
Always a privilege to find a friend at most,
for to lose them is always a dismay
but then, they never really were lost
for in your heart, they will always stay.
One summer day, one cold night,
when you're all alone with memories to hold,
when you would wish to remember a friend's sight,
find it in your heart where they are mold.
Friends are more than persons, more than treasures.
They are what keep us, what bind us, what we are
for they truly are what we pursues
to care for, to inspire and share who we are.
To remember is a task so impossible to deem
to be done only by the human mind, mind's apart,
for to remember a friend has never been
a task of the mind, but truly, of the heart.
If i forget you though,
blame my mind.
For my mind has been forgetful
but never my heart.
