Birth
Amierith was an inexperienced Watcher, but when a colorful pundu was born into the world, she knew the baby was hers to guide. A new baby was cause for celebration and love, and though she never had been a Watcher before, she knew her baby, named Belle Vie, was supposed to be receiving adoration. Two unusual new pundus upset Belle and Amierith's arrival, however, and drew the island's attention away from the infant.
Left alone, the Watcher could feel Belle shiver and withdraw into her mind, and Amierith wrapped her spirit around the baby's consciousness, trying as best she could to radiate affection. Even without the island?s normal welcoming, Belle felt the protection and love she needed. She curled into a tight ball and felt the warmth from the spirit residing inside of her, and it was enough.
Solitude--it was a word many Watchers feared, yet Amierith did not. While the two new pundus drew the attention of the island and overshadowed Belle's arrival, together, curled in a far away corner, Watcher and charge grew close. Amierith's spirit enveloped Belle Vie, holding with a gentle touch, and somewhere in her ethereal form, she smiled, soft and kind.
