Well guarded and maintained, the warehouse district holds the goods of not only merchants, but also the great Houses. Storage hangers, small inns, and wagons are common here, as well as the corrals for the various riding beasts of the depths. Crates being loaded and unloaded, pained grunts of slaves and constantly rolling wagon wheels often hid the secret meetings in empty alleys and warehouses of fallen merchants.

Valdaer was silent as he passed among the towering warehouses and guards. The likes of he weren't suppose to be there, but the end of the cycle was coming. The meeting was near.

Sneaking behind one particular, he notes that the wall seems pretty easy to scale. With a deep breath, he pulls himself up using the pre-made hand and foot holes. Couldn't make a secret door. No just have to use the window. Like I'm some kind stupid wall creature. If I didn't need-.

His thought cut off, when he made it to the small window. He barely slipped through, but the informant was right. He got into the meeting without anyone seeing him.

"...everyone will get lazy again. They'll think he'll take care of guard them." A thick rustic voice said.

"True, but then no one would dare put a thief in slavery. I don't have a count of those captures, but it was many." The voice was rough and callous.

A tired sigh calmed the murmur,"Its clear that with the Lord's return comes some respect, but it also means a harder time. He'll try to enslave us. You have all gone by and seen those guards. Soulless, all of them."

There were a couple of "yeah's" and "thats right". He must have calmed them down because his voice came back stronger,"I suggest the following. That we band together. We can run those smaller thieves off-"

He was cut off by a saucy feminine voice,"Oh right. So your group can take the biggest portion of Market District. No way, if your going to start you unite speech. I'm leaving."

"Now, hold on. This united-"

"Would be good for you, but those of us who have less people. No way. Plus, I can see where you're headed. If you want to challenge the City Lord you do it your self!"

There were many feet, and the sound of a door slamming.
"Those fools. They won't stand a chance. Or maybe Lady V and those others are bounded to House's. Well it doesn't matter. Together we will become powerful, spread, kill of those no believer. Maybe they will join the soulless mass that serve that House, but we wouldn't. We will stand against it!"

There were cheers and yes's, but Valdaer could hear that no one really was interested in sharing. What ever his name is. He's going to die in mere days. With those thoughts, he settled into hear the rest.

The drow slave master watched over the hobgoblins as they tended to the slaves. Mixed races, kobolds, goblins, orcs.. even humans cowered in corrals while their task masters moved around on raised walkways between the pens. None saw the black cloaked figure as he rose behind the drow, silent and deadly.

The sudden lack of any sound caused the drow male to turn his head, the motion severing his throat as the blade that hovered there was pressed tightly. Dark, hot blood sprayed wetly over the ground as the shadowy figure seemed to dissolve back down into nothing.. the sudden return of sound as the fresh corpse crumpled into a heap being the only tale of his passing.

Screams and shouts brought guards and more drow running. When they nudged the body onto its back, there were more than a few muttered gasps, for the drow corpse was ashen grey, his body sucked empty of all color and his eyes were a souless pale white with no iris. Mutters of curses and assassins spread, but even quicker spread with cautious whispers was a name.. Druu'giir.

"This is quite gruesome."Irrafay said as she examined the body of the dead slave master. She rearranged the small scarf around her mouth

Beside her the short stout dwarf girl, "Aye he...ike the 'ther from the mark't squair'."

"And yours this one is attached to the name of the City Lord?" Irrafay nelt close. It defiantly looked like something the heavy aura Lord would have a hand in. But did he alone do it...why? Personal reason? No, this was work. Which means...

"He was repurted to haved had dealin' wit' the Lord, and unly the lord." The dwarf said.

"Thank you," she stood."keep an eye out for more such stuff."

The dwarf nodded and then scurried into the crowd which was making a large circle around the mess.
Irrafay stayed in there, thinking in till she sighed and disappeared back into the crowd.

"Nothing is more interesting then this...won't ye agree?" Valdaer looked the smaller male in front of him over.
"A..Aye sir," The young welp left eye was bore a thick scare across it. Which is probably why is pretends to be terrified of other males, Valdaer thought smirking.
"Now what do we do with ye? Its clear ye got some talent. Talent enough to be of use," He moved his sword back and forth over the young's throat. "However, I can't have out that I nearly lost my stuff to such as ye. That would make me look bad, ye know."
The young shivered and put forth a good performance. "Sir, I..I...wou..would rather be of use."
"Plenty want to be of use. But I could think of a few things for ye." Valdaer smiled as one hand snaked into behind him. He loved the look on the whelp's face. You're sure scared now, aren't you?
Sighing, Valdaer put little cuts into the trembling body, "I'm going to send ye to a friend, she'll be sure to find ye a place." He handed the young a piece of clothe. "All ye need to do is knock on the back door. They'll send ye along from there."
The whelp looked the cloth over in shock and then smiled. "A..Ay..Aye sir!"
Valdaer nearly chuckled, but held it as the whelp scurried down the alley. He hadn't a clue what his sister was plan all the young folk she had sent him to collect. Something about easier minds and having cleaned out some staff. I guess she actually sent them to that cracked House. That sorcerer gives me the chills, but he promised power and we promised people. I just hope that I don't end up eating that boy, Cook tells me she doesn't stew the damned ones. Though sometimes I wonder...,he thought walking out of the alley.
