Weapon(s): Setsuka’s most important tools are the lenses she carries on her belt. Her lenses range from as large as a dinner plate to as small as a shuriken. They were crafted by her great-grandfather, who intended to pass his creations to the eldest male in his own line of the Ashitaka family. After Setsuka’s brother and father were killed, however, the Ashitaka family elders agreed to break with tradition and allow Setsuka to inherit the lenses. Setsuka employs her lenses in nearly all of her techniques (for example, the lenses can be used to magnify sunlight into a powerful beam).
Setsuka’s only other notable piece of equipment is a crystal kunai. While the kunai appears to be made from glass, it is actually quite durable. The treated crystal that composes the kunai can only be damaged by a direct blast of concentrated chakra. Setsuka uses her kunai for close combat, only throwing it in the event of a critical opening.

Gaidoku Inkou Viral Flame (Flame of Corrosion)- The viral flame is similar to that of Ominnokotsu in it's gaseous form, however it is munch more versatile in use. Once released it resembles a plume of fire but disperses into what seems to be smoke. The embers of the flame are so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eye. At first glance it resembles a hot glowing plume of smoke that is released either from the mouth or pores of the skin. In it's base form the flame causes extreme irritation to the skin causing it to turn red as if hot thistles of fire are being brushed against i, however it isn't fatal. One of it's most effective uses is paralyzes when inhaled by the opponent as it cause hemorrhaging and paralyzes.

Drawback: When the seals are over, the user extends their hands, shooting the ball of fire from their fingertips, which after repeated use (3 or more times), causes singeing which can slow down the speed of which a user can perform handseals or other finger movements.
Description: The user performs the handseals, converting chakra within the hands into heat energy. The hands are then pointed towards a target and a small bolt of fire, no larger than a foot in diameter, leaves the hand and flies rapidly towards the opponent.

Drawback: Requires the user to exhale and keep their dominant hand cupped over their mouths. Once the user is out of breath of moves their hand, the technique falls.
Description: The user performs the handseals, energizing their hand and their esophagus with chakra. The user then cups their hand over their lips and exhales. The oxygen being expelled from the lungs combusts upon reaching the chakra from the hand, and the user blows it out a maximum of ten feet away. This is different from the Goukakyou no Jutsu in the fact that this comes out as a stream and not a fireball, and also different from the fact that once the user stops breathing out or moves their hand, the technique ends.

Description: The user forms handsigns and begins to heat the air around them in five concentrated spots. If heated high enough, the air will begin to burn in the shape of a sparrow. They will appear in a half of a second once this technique is mastered. Once formed, the user can send them towards their opponent with the point of a finger and a boost of chakra. The projectiles fly in a straight line, allowing for minimal control in direction while in flight. All though made from fire, they cannot do much damage beyond a burn since they lack substance and intensity of other fire jutsu.
Refraction Technique –
This is Setsuka’s most basic technique, but it can be used in a number of ways. When performing this technique, Setsuka uses her knowledge of light and lenses to manipulate and bend beams of light to her advantage. If Setsuka is engaged in close combat, she can use her crystal kunai to aim a beam of light into her opponents eyes, temporarily blinding him while she lands several blows. When she is fighting an enemy at a distance, Setsuka can imbue her lenses with chakra and briefly suspend them in the air. She can then aim concentrated beams of light at her opponent’s eyes from different angles, leading to temporary or even permanent blindness. This is a basic technique, however, and is often ineffective on experienced foes.
Depth Distortion Technique –
Using chakra-imbued lenses, Setsuka manipulates the light entering an opponent’s eyes and confuses his vision. At its lowest levels, this technique can fool an opponent into thinking Setsuka is directly in front of him when she is really several yards away. As she develops the technique, however, Setsuka gains the ability to create powerful illusions with her lenses. For instance, Setsuka could manipulate an enemy’s eyes to make the edge of a high cliff appear to be several feet farther away than it is. Her opponent may then believe he is stepping onto solid ground, but fall into a deep valley.
Light Magnification Technique –
Setsuka’s most powerful technique which amplifies the sun’s light and heat to create a destructive beam. Setsuka uses chakra to suspend a specific series of lenses into the air, concentrating the sun’s rays into a powerful ray of heat. This is similar to children burning ants with a magnifying glass. By exerting even more chakra, Setsuka can control her airborne lenses and aim this beam at a moving foe. By experimenting with different lens combinations, Setsuka is eventually able to apply this technique with light from the moon or from large fires.

The technique is used to where they create a small ball of lightning to where the user is capable of hurling it towards the opponent. This technique is weak however and is only capable of paralyzing an opponent for approximately one round no matter how strong the opponent may be.

Personality: Arrogant, aloof, and seemingly cold most of the time, Setsuka can be a rather difficult person to get along with. She enjoys challenging her classmates to sparring matches frequently, usually in a dismissive and cocky manner. Though she is recognized as a tremendous talent, Setsuka’s greatest downfall has been her inability to work well with her team members. Particularly, Setsuka cannot stand girls who obsess over “cute boys.” Girls like Ino and Sakura would be considered particularly irksome to Setsuka.
Setsuka earned top marks at the Academy and graduated near the top of her class in her first year of eligibility. She became very popular with male cadets who treated her as “one of the guys” because of her competitiveness and disdain for “girly” activities. Setsuka was not nearly as popular among female students who often called her a tomboy.

Though Setsuka’s mother tried to instill the virtue of humility in her daughter, the fame and praise she received throughout her childhood gave her a rather arrogant attitude. She carried this attitude in the Hidden Village of Flames when she was first accepted into the Ninja Academy.

Effect: The beginning for any paper user. One must take the time to learn within this technique to gain access to more advanced paper techniques. With this technique the user will gain the knowledge to manipulate the form and actions of paper. The higher one goes into this technique, the more advanced their paper creations are.

Drawback: This is not a technique but an understanding. Without this, one cannot hope to utilize paper. This technique only grants minimal control over paper in their radius. Paper only being manipulated with this technique cannot be used as an offensive strike and lacks the chakra to be imbued with Paper Strength.
Description: There are 3 ranks to paper manipulation. Each rank has its own name and variation but each form allows a user access to more advanced capabilities.
o Paper Adept - "C" Rank - This is the basic paper manipulation where everyone must start. With this rank of knowledge a user can manipulate pieces of paper in a simple form within the range of tiny to small size. Simple forms range from weapons such as needles or basic rods. At this stage the user is capable of manipulating paper within a radius of ten meters.
o Paper Origami - "B" Rank - This is the intermediate form of manipulation. Upon achieving this rank, ones creations receive an origami feel to its creation. Utilizing ones own chakra, a user is capable of creating paper objects or animals within the origami realm. At this rank, a user is capable of manipulating paper within the range of medium to large size. At this stage the user is capable of manipulating paper within a radius of thirty meters.
o Paper Masha - "A" Rank - This is the final level of paper manipulation. One is capable of taking multiple pieces of paper to create something of almost life like value. With this, one is capable of creating things within the range of huge to Gargantuan size. When the user learns this rank, they are capable of manipulating paper within a fifty meter radius.

This paper creates a shell like defense in front of the user capable of blocking taijutsu and ninjutsu. This shell can only be as large as the amount of paper available to the user.

Description: By grabbing hold of a piece of paper, the user channels chakra through it and connects it to other paper nearby. By doing this, the user is capable of forming a long chain of paper that can be used however they see fit within their range of paper manipulation. This is most effectively achieved through the use of holsters, though their utilization isn’t necessary.

Drawback: Weapons are only as strong as the user’s Paper Strength. If the weapon leaves the users hand, the weapon will lose it’s strength.
Description: By simply folding or fitting pieces of paper together, the user is capable of forming any kind of melee weapon. The rank of this technique determines the size of the weapon.
o C Rank- By using a minimum of 1 piece of paper, the user is capable of creating small secondary weapons such as knife or an icepick.
o B Rank- By using a minimum of 5 pieces of paper, the user is capable of creating medium sized weapons between the sizes of a wakizashi and katana.
o A Rank-By using a minimum of 15 sheets of paper, the user is capable of creating large weapons such as nodachis and other pole arms.
o S Rank- By using a minimum of 40 sheets of paper, the user is capable of forming huge weapons such as zanbatos, great hammers, and great axes

Effect: By compressing a minimum of 25 sheets of paper and a maximum of 100 into a ball no larger than the users fist, they create a grenade which, when detonated, causes the paper to stick to whatever it comes in contact with.

Drawback: Does not discriminate between friend and foe. The range of this technique is confined to the user’s knowledge of Paper Manipulation.
Description: The user begins by forming hand seals, infusing up to 100 sheets of paper with their chakra. The affected paper will rapidly form into a ball that floats in front of the user. By throwing grenade (or simply moving it with paper manipulation), the user can assign a detonation time between 1 and 10 seconds. After the allotted time has passed, the bomb will detonate and the sheets of sticky paper will explode. This technique has a range of 5 meters and can be retrained a maximum of 4 additional times, giving the user the ability to create a maximum of 5 grenades.

Description: This add on training allows the user to bypass the “timed detonation” of the hush grenades and gives them the ability to detonate the bombs remotely using the dragon seal. The grenades can only stay compressed for 5 rounds before they fall apart. Applying the dragon seal will detonate all active hush grenades at the same time.

Drawback: The clone is only as realistic as the users paper manipulation will allow. The clone is only as strong as the users Paper Strength.
Description: After forming hand seals, the user forces chakra into at least 100 pieces of paper. The paper will quickly swirl together and form a replica of the user. When first learned, the user is only capable of forming 2 clones. Retraining this technique will raise the number of clones capable of being created by 1 each time. The clones are capable of using paper jutsu as strong as the users “Paper Strength” jutsu.

Effect: Using 20 sheets of paper or 5 pieces ribbon, the user is capable of creating a paper bow.

Description: By combining a few sheets of paper, the user is capable of forming a bow. This bow can shoot normal arrows purchased at a store or ones made out of paper.

Drawback: The Arrow's strength is determined by the user’s rank of Paper Strength. Paper Arrows can only fly as far as the users paper manipulation field.
Description:By flicking their wrist and pumping chakra into a paper ribbon, the ribbon wraps around itself, creating an arrow. These arrows can be used in conjunction with a paper bow or one purchased from any item shop.

Description: Through dedication to paper archery and utilization of the paper release , the user becomes able to shoot multiple arrows from their bow with every shot. Each training allows for one more arrow to be fired, with a maximum of five for every shot.

Effect: Allows the user to create articles of clothing out of paper.
Special: Handseals
Drawback: The strength of the clothing is only as powerful as the users knowledge of Paper Strength.
Description: After the formation of handseals, the users is able to form articles of clothing that take on the appearance of textiles woven from cloth fibers. Common uses for this technique use the clothing as armor, disguise, or even as a way to transport large amounts of paper on one’s body.
o C Rank- The user is capable of forming smaller articles of clothing such as gloves, hats, headbands, and shoes. These can be formed with roughly 20 pieces of paper, but can hold a maximum of 50.
o B Rank- The user is now capable of creating full sized garments such as shirts, pants, cloaks, kimonos, and other robe style articles. These can be formed with around 100 pieces of paper, but can hold 1000 sheets for shirts and pants, and roughly 3000 sheets for robes or kimonos.

* Ototegotae no Jutsu (Silencer Technique)

Effect: Uses 8 paper cubes to create a dead spot, disabling sound techniques from reaching the user.
Special: hand seals
Drawback: Must need at least eight Paper Cubes for this technique to work. Only works in a straight line. Must keep moving the paper to keep the technique working. The user can only block out sound techniques as strong as their paper strength.
Description: By unfolding 8 paper cubes (4 to the left, 4 to the right) in two columns on either side of them, the user can block sound techniques from reaching them. This is achieved by staying in the middle of the columns of paper and causing the sheets to vibrate quickly, creating a dead spot where sound cannot reach. The user must stay in the center of the technique and must keep the paper cubes 1 meter from each other at all times. Because of the concentration needed to keep this technique active, jutsu above C rank are impossible to perform.

Effect: The user is capable of forming wings of paper, granting them the ability to fly. At its higher rank, the user is able to carry more weight with them.

Description: After forming hand seals, the user is able to from wings from paper on their back. Functioning much like the wings of the Tsubasa Clan, the paper user is granted the ability of flight.
o C rank- The user is given the ability to fly, and can also carry up to one person (or an object of equivalent size) beneath them as they fly. This requires 400 pieces of paper.
o B Rank- The paper wings of the user are now much stronger, granting them the ability to the carry 2 people (or objects or equivalent size) beneath them as they fly. The user is also capable of flying much faster than before, granting them 2 extra movements in the sky. This requires 600 pieces of paper.

* Rakkasan no Jutsu (Parachute Technique)

Effect: Creates a parachute out of paper.
Special: Hand seals
Drawback: Strength of the parachute is contingent on the users knowledge of Paper Strength. The user becomes a slow moving object in the air with limited mobility.
Description: Used as a last resort while falling through the sky, the user is able to save themselves from certain death by creating a parachute from paper. This parachute slows down their decent so the user can land safely on the ground. This skill requires the use of 100 pieces of paper.

* Kami Gosunkugi (Paper Spike)

Effect: Causes paper scattered on the ground to suddenly rise up into spikes.
Special: Hand seals, hold snake
Drawback: Does not discriminate between friend or foe. This technique is only as strong as the user’s Paper Strength. The spikes will only stay active for as long as the user holds the snake seal.
Description: After forming handseals, the user sends their chakra to paper scattered on the ground, not being used for another technique. The paper will suddenly rise up into a sharp spike, attempting to pierce anything they come across. When first trained, the user can create 5 spikes from paper within their field of manipulation. This technique can be retrained with a C ranked session to add another spike. Only a maximum of 10 spikes can be created.

* Name: Yoroi no Kami (Armor of Paper)

Effect: Creates a thin layer of paper around the users body to act as a last resort.
Special: Hand seals
Drawback: Can only be active for 5 turns before a 5 turn rest period is required. This armor is only as strong as the users paper strength.
Description: After forming hand seals, the user calls on paper to wrap around their entire body. This thin layer clings and blends in to whatever part of the body it touches, skin, hair, and clothing alike. This jutsu can only stay active for a limited time before it falls apart.

Effect: Creates a dome around the user that can defend from oncoming attacks from all angles.

Drawback: Only as strong as the users Paper Strength. This sphere blocks the users vision.
Description: After forming handseals, the user is able to form a sphere out of paper used to defend against attacks. The sphere has the ability to fly above the ground and can float wherever the user desires, however, it blocks the vision. This requires 100 pieces of paper to create.

Effect: Causes up to 5 decks of cards to float in a ring around the user. By simply moving their arm through a throwing motion, they are able to fire up to five cards from their ring towards the target of their choice.

Description: After forming handseals, the user is capable of calling up to 10 decks of cards within their possession into a ring that floats around the user. As long as the ring floats around the user, they are capable of launching up to 5 cards from it with a simple swipe of their hand. The jutsu can be in effect for 5 turns before all remaining cards fall out of orbit.

Effect: These strings attach to the users fingers much like puppet strings. The can attach to the opponent and immobilize them or can be attached to a paper familiar, boosting their movements to that of a taijutsu master of the same rank of the user.

Drawback: These strings are not invisible and can still be broken by conventional means. The strings are only as strong as the user’s knowledge of Paper Strength. Can only be used on paper familiars. Disables the users hands while they control the familiar.
Description: By rolling paper up into thin long strings, they attach to the users fingers and can be controlled by the arm movements of the user. The most common application of this technique is to boost the performance of a paper familiar, giving it increased speed and maneuverability. The user can only control one familiar at a time with the strings. Because the strings are made of tangible material, they can be used to hinder the movement of an opponent as well.

Effect: A Powerful defensive technique, the user summons a swirling mass of paper which surrounds them and independently blocks incoming attacks.

Drawback: Paper being utilized in the shield cannot be used for another paper technique without dispelling the shield. Constantly drains a small amount of chakra.
Description: After forming hand seals, the user is able to call a swirling mass of paper to float around them made up of between 50 and 100 sheets. Acting much like the shield of sand, this jutsu acts independently of the users consciousness and blocks attacks automatically unless explicitly disabled by the user.

Upon completion, the plane may be boarded by up to 4 passengers. This vehicle is capable of flying extremely fast and high in air. To create a paper plane, the user needs at least 1000 pieces of paper.

Effect: Imbues the paper strings with the same cutting power the user has attained through training Paper Strength.

Description: After the user has used paper strings, they can push their chakra through the long tendrils, granting them the cutting power of paper strength. These strings can be controlled with a combination of the paper manipulation skill and arm motions.

Effect: Using nearby paper, the arm of the user’s choice becomes covered, creating a giant arm with sharp spikes as fingers.

Drawback: Disables one of the user’s arms. Only as strong as the user’s knowledge of Paper Strength.
Description: After forming handseals, the users arm becomes consumed with a flood of paper. This claw requires 700 pieces of paper to complete and can stretch anywhere within the users paper manipulation field. After completed, the user has full control over the arm and can direct the razor sharp claws to attack enemies or defend from oncoming attacks. This claw moves extremely quick and is difficult to defend against.
