He fits the shell into the 12 gauge with small ringing sounds that revolve around his words, punctuating an emotion that didn't need any disambiguation.

He snapped the gun together offhandedly. The empty room had nothing to say back, so it kept silent.

"I had a dream once, where I knew that if I woke up, that'd be it, I'd be over."

He pointed the gun in the middle of the air, sighted along it to the bleak looking blotted cement wall, pulled the trigger, and promptly disappeared.

Morgan awoke as the bedframe was jostled from his partner rising up.
"Mmmmf... Come back to bed, baby," he mumbled.
"Baby? After 3 years of dating, you could barely stand to hear me call you 'Honey;' Now, you're suddenly OK with calling me 'Baby?'" the half-naked brunette questioned with a playful smirk. She wandered over to the apartment's kitchenette counter, pressing the Start button on the outdated coffeemaker with a long red-tipped fingernail. To her dismay, nothing happened. Her brow furrowed.

"What the hell, Morgan? I thought you said Mickey fixed this thing," the woman turned towards the bedroom through the still open door. A drowsy murmur answered her.
"He did. You may want to check the filter."
The tall brunette took the advice of her sleepy-eyed lover and opened the top hatch. She gasped in surprise. Inside, waiting for her, was a beautiful diamond ring, adorned with a red ribbon tied around it, the words 'TO CINDY' embroidered on it.

"Morgan! Are you-"
"Yes, I am serious, Cindy." She turned to see him already on his right knee, directly to her left. He gently took her hand into his.
"Cindy, you're the most wonderful woman I've ever met and I don't think I can ever repay you for the joy you've brought me. But I'm willing to spend the rest of my life trying."
Happy tears began welling in her deep emerald eyes.
"Oh, Morgan..."
