Reyn pulled Lisa along behind him as they made their way through the melting streets. Tree's dropped bundles of slushy snow onto the sidewalk as the pair navigated the streets.

"There! Over there!" Reyn shouted as they drew close to the ice cream shop. It was situated in the middle of a strip mall, numerous shops lined up next to it. Excitedly the dragon dropped Lisa's hand and dashed off into the crowd.

"REYN!" Lisa shouted. The crowds surged together for a moment blocking her path. Shoving her way through the crowd Lisa took off after her 'son'.

Reyn darted in right behind them, too excited to keeps still. His tail thrashed back and forth as the boy scanned the ice cream shop. So many yummy flavors to try.

"Which one shou-" Reyn turned to ask Lisa her opinon. The empty door behind him met the question with blunt silence. Taking a breath he turned to the man he had followed in.

"Have you seen Lisa?" he inquired.

Meanwhile, Lisa was still outside. The crowds thinned a bit and the dragon took a chance to hunt for Reyn, calling out every couple minutes.

Reyn screwed his face up, thinking. "Lisa's....Lisa. She's my not-mommy who K-lady and Poxi let me live with," the boy finally explained, not particularly clearly.

Kajol's sudden movement made Reyn notice the other kid. He broke out into a wide grin before suddenly becoming serious again. "I can't play hide and seek now," he told the other boy earnestly. "And that's not a good spot anyway," he added, "I can still see you."

The dragon beamed up at the man. "Uh-huh! And now I live with Lisa!" The excited twitching of his tail threatened to smack someone as Reyn wriggled, unable to contain himself.

The boy's body stilled as he heard that Lisa hadn't been spotted in the ice cream store. As quickly as he had gotten excited, his mood fell. Reyn tilted his head at Kajol as the brown-haired toddler stuck his head out. "Oh...." Reyn frowned, thinking over the kid's statement. "Then why are you hiding?" he finally asked, unable to come up with an answer on his own.

There was one last place to look, Lisa consoled herself. Reyn was no where to be found outside so maybe, just maybe, he had gone to the store. "This is why I don't have kids," she muttered addressing the wind as if it were that Kayden person. "This is why I said no. I can't- what do I know about taking care of a kid? Honestly!" Lisa kept talking to the air, abstractly aware of exactly what she was doing. But abstractions weren't exactly helping her find Reyn, now were they?

Lisa swung open the door.

"LISA!!!!"

Lisa stumbled back a step as the dragon boy launched himself at her. Taking a deep breath to calm her temper, the woman forced her scowl off on her face. "Don't ever run off like that again," she scolded quietly.

Reyn's smile disappeared for a minute as he glanced down at his feet. "Sorry...." he muttered. The awkward silence lasted for a few more minutes before Reyn perked up. He tugged on Lisa's hand over to the family he had made friends with. "Yup!" he replied to Kajol, "This is Lisa. She's my not-mommy," he explained. The dragon boy stepped his front feet up on the air to get a better look at the ice cream. "Yuuuck. It's green!" Reyn complimented with a grin in the same tone that kids squeal about the sliminess of worms.

"...Hello," Lisa greeted.

"...Lisa Kiervan," Lisa replied quietly, "and Reyn," she added, gesturing at the dragon toddler.

Reyn leaned forward, taking a lick of the green ice cream. The boy licked his lips thoughtfully. "It's okay." he finally pronounced. "I'm gonna get strawberrry instead." The boy tugged on Lisa's hand, until he got the woman to follow him.

"Excuse me," the older dragon said, following her charge. Reyn climbed the air until he was high enough to see the buckets of ice cream. Pointing to the pink one he smiled sweetly at the girl behind the counter. "A cone please."

Leaving Lisa to pay and accept the cone he turned back to Kajol.
