Spes actually looked amused as she raised her brows at her godmother and Indu's expression was identical, if more wicked.
"Uhhh....huuuuhhh... Then why are you blushing? Isn't that your boyfriend, lover type fellow?"
Raising her voice so Flint could hear her, the laughter was evident.
"Hullo, Flint! Call me Indu!"

"She's blushing because she's actually very innocent when it comes to sex." A cheerful voice said helpfully. Leaning against the counter, another young man grinned at Rune and Indu, eyes sparkling wickedly. The same age as Flint, he looked quite a bit like him, albeit without the curl in his hair and with more gray in his eyes. "She can tease and do innuendo with the best, but when it comes down to it, she's a virgin. Literally."
"Steel - " Rune's voice came from a slightly strangled throat, and the rest of her sentence - though very likely incomprehencible to Indu - was very obviously impolite. The young man laughed and bowed to Indu. "She and my brother are cut from the same cloth, unfortunately. The name's Steel."
Cody and Tex grinned at each other, the smaller boy sneaking closer to peer around the corner. Eyes on Spes, a soft voice came mentally to the child. ~You almost warned her - that wouldn't have been as funny.~

Oooh. He's a nice one. Or at least, in Indu's mind, he was. She couldn't help but grin recklessly at him and shrug.
"Okay, I believe you, she's not up to anything with him."
The redhead's gaze jumped to her friend and she laughed.
"God, I wish Tenshi was as shy as you!"
Spes' green eyes flickered slightly and a she paused at her binkie sucking before thinking, quite delibrately and clear for a child.
'Simple humor. Unentertaining.'
Her wings flapped for a moment and she moved her gaze to the ones that were watching her.
'Who?'

~Gabriel.~ The boy smiled. Her thoughts were actually clearer than some of the babies he'd met. And she was nice enough. ~I'm Gabriel. You're very smart for your age.~
Rune looked very close to hitting Steel, though the fact that she had a baby in her arms delayed that impulse. Her eyes strayed toward the empty hall where Flint had vanished before she turned firmly back to Indu, sticking out her tongue. "You suck." She informed her friend, ignoring Steel as he chortled happily. "Why does everyone assume that I like that idiot?"
"She should be up to something with him." Steel's devious expression didn't even waver as a pan shot from the nearby rack and zoomed toward his head; instead, he ducked, and the pan vanished as it moved past him, reappearing in its rightful place an instant later. "It would do the both of them a world of good."

Yes, Indu definately liked this Steel character; he seemed to tease Rune as much, if not more so, than she did. Rune needed the teasing.
Spes removed her binkie and almost smiled at the boy, her mouth twitching again.
'So are you.'
The baby had a sense of humor. Not feeling the urge to introduce herself, as her name had already been said aloud, she squirmed briefly in Rune's arms, flapping her wings hard and blinking up at the woman. Did she have to hold her in the same position so long? It was irritating, to say the least.

Rune muttered something that might have been "Pain in the a**" before glaring at Steel. "You, get him and go. I'll talk to you later."
"Yes m'am." With a grinning salute at Indu, Steel headed down the hall, pausing to remark, "by the way, Indu, your daughter's quite the cutie. Takes after her parents." Without waiting for a reply, he vanished, and Rune adjusted her grip on little Spes, feeling vaguely guilty. "Sorry, sweetie, I didn't mean to hurt you."
Gabriel sighed, slightly bored with his mother's conversation himself. Besides, Flint was gone, and he wouldn't be back soon. Apparently, Cody and Tex felt the same; with a glance at his brothers, the older Tenjutsu pointed back down in the opposite direction. Stepping out as though he'd only just arrived, Gabriel held out his arms. "Mama, you didn't hurt her, she's bored. Can we take Spes and play, Aunt Indu? I promise we'll be careful."

Indu looked startled, and colored at Steel's parting comment, before jumping at Gabriel's "sudden appearance."
"Uhmm... Sure, just... Call me if she gets upset, okay?"
Spes reached out to Indu who stood and came over, but the babe simply wanted to grab her teddy before letting herself be handed over to the boy.
'Better'
The redhead patted him lightly on the collarbone, in a approving, if slightly condesending, sort of fashion and shook her teddybear, as if to tell him to get a move on.
Once the children were safely gone, Indu allowed her smile to disappear, and she let out a huge, depressed sigh.
"I don't know what she wants!"
They both knew that Indu wasn't talking about Spes.

Rune looked sympathetic, seating herself at the chair nearest Indu before hugging her friend's shoulders. "If love and life weren't complicated, they wouldn't be worth having." Sh commented with a sigh. Folding her arms, she sat back. "Has she SAID anything about what she wants?"

"Uhm... I think she kind of wants us to be a couple, actually. She hits on me all the time, and calls me petnames, and tries to take care of me. Tries to sleep with me too. She was really excited and supportive of the pregnancy..."
Indu frowned and folded her arms across her chest.
"Wasn't our sleeping together simply a fluke, though?"

"Hmmm." Actually, Rune could believe it. Tenshi was like that - giving her heart to someone, she meant it. Though untangling THIS web would require a delicate touch. "Did it feel like a fluke?" Start with somewhat of an easy question. Time enough to be blunt if the nicer way didn't work out.
Though she had no idea how in the hell there was a polite way to ask Indu if she were bisexual.

Frowning, the young woman readjusted her sunglasses and pushed red strangs from her eyes, shaking her head slowly.
"I guess I just don't know if it was real, nor do I understand why Shi's trying to pursue a relationship."

(*dies laughing* Okay, I have to add this - Rune never drinks, and in the GMFC story I randomly wrote out, after her night with her memories back, Steel replaces them, but he replaces the reason for them having sex as the fact that they were both drunk. xd )
~Well, she could always try the sex again now that Tenshi's a girl. That would solve the fluke problem real quick.~ Unbidden, the thought touched Rune's mind, and she mentally slapped it away. ~Steel, get the hell out of my head! I swear, I'm going to kick your a**.~
But the fact that they were both drunk definitely complicated things. Tenshi-the-man had been a horndog, Rune knew that - the drinking had very likely made it worse on both sides. Tapping a finger against her arm thoughtfully, she weighed her next comment before saying it.
"Maybe she already liked you, Indu. And the sex thing, and the pregnancy, it clinched it for her, you know?"
