Kate Forsyth has written a series of six books called The Witches of Eileanan. She has started on a second series called Rhiannon's Ride that is of the same world, but a slightly later time period. It is beautifully sculpted. A world full of magic and magical beasts. For the first time since the witches travelled the stars to their new world, magic is being condemned. Magic artifacts, along with witches and faeries of various sorts, are being burned. But of course, as in all good fantasy novels, a hero will rise to save the people. Although in this case it is many heros. Things aren't so straight forward. I would love to discuss these books with others.
