I browsed about and didn't see a parental introduction thread anywhere, and thus I was inspired to strike one up. If there is one, feel free to terminate this thread whenever necessary.

I thought that it would be enjoyable for those of us who are parents or simply have every day contact with a child to tell a little bit about ourselves.

Ect, ect. If anyone comes up with anything else that they think may be interesting to read about, let me know. =3

Also, if you're an aunt, uncle, day care provider or other individual who loves to chatter about the children they care for, feel free to edit as you see fit. This is just a generalized introduction, after all.

Best pregnancy experience(for the mums and dads) - I'd have to say that my ultrasounds and nursery construction were the best. I had so many sonograms during my pregnancy that I basically watched her grow, which was fantastic.
Weirdest pregnancy craving (for the mums or even the dads) - It wasn't really weird - I just went from hating pickles to eating them constantly. xD.
Short and sweet advice for labor and delivery - Despite any extreme drowsiness you may have, make sure that the anesthesiologist removes the epidural needle from your back if you receive one. I had the unpleasant experience of having one left in for over two days.
Current parenting milestone - My daughter is terrified of pooping on the toilet. She's been potty trained otherwise since shortly after her first birthday. We've tried every approach known to man, and she just refuses. We're also taking her to communication and speech classes at the local children's hospital to help her catch up with kids her own age, as she had a severe hearing loss for her first two years of life. Surgery mended the condition.
Toys/books/ect you'd recommend for other children/parents? - For toddlers I recommend decks of cards (kid cards come with all sorts of animals, cartoons and other fun things on them) to play memory/match with. Also finger paints and a lot of newspaper to spread on the floor of the work area. For infants, electric singing swings and soft mirrors. Baby Einstein was fantastic as well. ^^. My daughter loves her V-Smile game system, which has somehow taught her math that she resisted when I attempted to teach it to her.

That system is great. She (my daughter) doesn't spend too much time on it, and it has truthfully taught her so many things that it's just unbelievable. There's only so much you yourself can drill into a child in a day, and different learning possibilities are almost always embraced by toddlers. They like a variety, and V-Smile definitely gives it to them.
The Dora game is set for 5 year olds, but my two year old plays it with ease. I was really afraid it would be too advanced, but they make it so that the content can be learned, and not overwhelming.
Glad someone else likes this stuff as well. ^^

Oh wow. Yay.

Luna, your three and a half year old also attends speech therapy? I'd love a chance to talk to you, if I may. I'm curious as to why he's going, how he's doing, what sort of activities they do with him and whatnot. My daughter, who is the same age, has only been going for a few months and it has helped her tremendously already. I confess, I'm just utterly curious. You're the first mate I've heard of doing the same thing as myself.

On a random note:
Leap Frog learning systems are amazing, I agree. =3

my oldest goes to speech and he has been going sence he started school(for 3 years now) and sadly it hasnt helped him all that much i mean when he first started attending i could see a differnce after about the first week and then he kept on improving greatly for the first year he was in it and then after that he didnt really show much improvement at all and as far as the teachers go they keep me out of the loop as much as they can the only time i hear anything is if he gets into trouble but then again he also gose to resouce for his reading and writing and the teachers who work with him there are great they send home progress reports once a week and they actually send home things for him to do that way he can continue learning at home
