Ah, morning! Perhaps a certain male Kuniku's favorite time of day. Waking up bright and early in order to go hunting... for Breakfast, that is, always made the next day exciting. Getting up from the tatami mat on the floor of the kind old lady's house he'd spent the night in, Musubi stretched and emitted a soft yawn. "Mm, morning already?" Well, now that he was awake the only thing left for him to do was head out into the streets before the old woman woke up and find something to eat.
'You're really sweet Grandma, but your cooking's just not to my liking' he thought as he crossed the floor of the kitchen and pushed his way through the slightly ajar door that would lead him outside. He didn't mean to come across as rude by just leaving only a few hours after a human was kind to him, but he just couldn't help it. Musubi's tastebuds were yearning for something delicious and if the patron couldn't satisfy him, he felt he had every reason to walk away.
Stepping outside into the already bustling streets of the city, Musubi began thinking about what exactly he wanted to eat for his first meal of the day. Steamed rice with eggs? Fruit? Seasoned venison? Oh, there were just so many choices! "Guess I'll just let my nose decide." Weaving his way inbetween the groups of shoppers at a nearby laquerware stall, Musubi began sniffing the air in search of any particularly strong odors that might just interest him and his stomach.

Taberu padded along the streets, his stomach grumbling loudly as thoughts of fresh fruit tarts and fresh picked berries danced in his mind. Since wandering into the city, he had found a complete lack of the foods he was used to in the wild, instead forced to eat dry pellets from wherever he had ended up that night. He may not have the most refined pallet, but even he had standards for what he ate. A faint scent wafted in to his nose, and his head sprang up, gazing around the street trying to track down the origins of the aroma.
Taberu's tail swung excitedly and, half walking and half running, he trotted over to a seemingly abandoned basket by the side of the road. He stuck his muzzle in, sneezing slightly at he overpowering smell of the fresh flowers laid in it. But he dug further and pulled out his prize, a fresh pear. Just soft enough and without any unsavory bruises ruining its beauty. Taberu lifted it out carefully, turning ready to go find a nice, quiet area so he could eat his treat in peace.
"Hey you"! What're you doin'?" A voice cried out from around the corner, a human hurrying forwards, though pausing slightly when he noticed it was a Kuniku. The young Kuniku panicked, for he had sworn this basket was left to fend for itself, and ran, dropping the pear as he went. Rocks skidded from under his feet as he flew around a corner, trying to distance himself as much as possible. Glancing back, Taberu noticed the man he had inadvertently almost stolen from, and, noticing he was no longer in view, Taberu started slowing down. However, he didn't stop quick enough and accidentally slammed into an object in front of him. "Oof! Sorry 'bout that!"

When focusing on scent alone, Musubi certainly had the bad habit of shutting his eyes. He had a good nose and knew it, but ever since he was a pup he'd just about always tended to pay attention to one thing at a time. He'd bumped into countless people and things several times before so it never really surprised him whenever he did happen to run into something. "Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying much attention either." The reaction was pretty calm as Musubi opened his eyes, admitting his own failure to pay attention to what was going on in his surroundings. His tail swished once behind him as he realized that another Kuniku had barrelled into him. The force hadn't been enough to knock him to the ground, but he'd moved back a couple of inches from where he'd originally been standing.
Musubi blinked and then began to check himself for any injuries. As far as he could tell, no cuts, scrapes, bumps, or bruises had happened to him, which resulted in a smile and then a laugh. "Well, it looks like I'm just fine. What about you?" he asked, good-naturedly. Just by looks alone Musubi could tell that this male was younger than him... and come to think of it, he was fairly certain that he'd never seen this guy before. Perhaps he lived in another district of the city, or was just visiting like many other Kuniku from outside the city limits often did? "Oh, and if you were in a hurry to get somewhere, feel free to just step around me. I don't want to block you from something important if that's why you were running."

Taberu shook himself off, embarrassed. As far as he could tell, this stranger didn't have any ill will, and the man from before seemed to have given up the search, so Taberu was in the clear, but still he felt rotten about all of this. "S- sorry mister. It was just a... uhh, a misunderstanding." Though Taberu couldn't blame the human, he had just honestly thought it had been left, abandoned by someone who didn't appreciate food as much as he did. Letting out a nervous laugh, he shuffled, unsure what to do next. A quick glance around made him realize he was even more lost, not knowing where he had ended up in the unfamiliar city. The young Kuniku, lost and embarrassed shot one last nod to the other and walked past him.
Taberu made it around the corner, before noticing the man from before in the street, talking to some one. Not wanting to push his luck, he abruptly turned back around and padded to where Musubi was, trying to push attention off of himself. "No damage here." Taberu replied, giving himself a quick once over. He turned back towards the older Kuniku, guessing he had been in the city longer than himself. "Well, actually, I only just got here, so I don't exactly have plans. In fact, I think it would be safe to say that I don't even have a clue as to where I am currently. Really, I was just trying to get some food, more specifically some nice, fresh fruit..." He drifted off, suddenly distracted by the low rumble of his stomach as images of fresh fruit danced through his mind.

Musubi just shrugged and then smiled to himself when Taberu walked away; he didn't think all that much of the younger male's departure since it was fairly early in the morning, and everyone still had a full day ahead of them. Therefore, he'd been right in thinking that Taberu had some sort of business to attend to and was glad he'd suggested . He turned, about to head in the opposite direction when 'lo and behold! Taberu had come right back! "Oh?" Musubi hadn't seen that one coming. As Taberu explained briefly that he was a newcomer to Maizoukin, Musubi chuckled. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm lucky that I was born in such a big city or else I don't think I'd ever really know how to find my way around." Being the Capital city and home to the Emporer, Maizoukin was probably the one largest towns in all of Nippon.
At the mention of fresh fruit for breakfast, Mususbi couldn't help but bounce on his feet a little. That sounded like the perfect thing to have for breakfast! "Wow, what a coincidence. I was just on my way to get some breakfast myself. Care to join me, Friend?" Musubi's tail wagged cheerfully at the thought of dining with someone other than a family member for a change. "If fruit's what we're after, then we're on the wrong side of the city. The nicest stalls won't be over here, although I wouldn't call any of these vendors bad." Absolutely certain of his ability to infallibly find his way to the best food sources, he encouraged but didn't pressure Taberu to join him.

Taberu's face lit up, not only was he going to get out of this awful, loud place, he was going to get food! The young kuniku was about to agree to this plan when he realized that he had yet to learn his name, and he was taught to never go off with strangers. "I just realized, I never got your name, mister. I'm Taberu." Taberu had never stayed in one place long, so it surprised him that Musubi had remained in the same place for so long, he couldn't imagine ever staying in one place. " You were born here? Wow. How can you stand living here, its so loud, and crowded!" Taberu realized he probably wasn't being very tactful, but he had always just blurted out whatever seemed to be on his mind.
Taberu was itching to stop all small talk and just get to where the good fruit was. All the way on the other side of the city? That walk seemed like it would last forever, and Taberu didn't think he could last that long. His stomach let out another unsatisfied grumble and he looked up, embarrassed, at the older Kuniku. "Let's get going then! Before my stomach decides it has had enough, and eats itself." He let out an uncomfortable laugh and then started walking, hoping Musubi would take the lead.

"Woah, don't get too far ahead!" Musubi said with a grin as he picked up the pace to join Taberu, and then walk a bit ahead of the younger male. "I know lots of shortcuts so don't worry; your stomach won't get to eat too much of itself before we get there." He could understand Taberu's desire to pick up the pace since hunger was probably one of the most troublesome things a body could experience. "My name is Musubi. It's nice to meet you, Taberu." As Musubi turned a street corner he smiled back at Taberu, taking no offense to the boy's surprise at his staying so long in the city. It was in fact loud and a very crowded place to live, but to some extent he'd just gotten use to it. Not to mention that his father Gennosuke would probably give him a good thrashing if he ever said he wanted to leave Maizoukin; he got in enough trouble as it was whenever he got caught leaving the city even for a few hours.
"Eh, it's not so bad when you've been here for a good while. I come from a large family so we make enough noise as it is. The humans don't bother me all that much," he explained while weaving his way around a small crowd that had gathered near a lacquerware stall. "My dad's also a bit famous around here, so he's always moving around the city to find different theaters. I've learned my way around because of that." Rounding another corner on his left side, Musubi entered an empty alleyway that was surprisingly quiet despite the bustling around it on the other streets. "Maizoukin does have some peaceful areas. All you have to do is know where to look."
