Why did they allow him to do that himself...? I didnt know people could ACTUALLY represent themselves in court...

it seems they can...or, as he says, 'needs to because I couldn't get a lawyer'
...yeah right, he's been jobless for a month, so he's had ample time, and the US law gives everyone a free lawyer if they need one? either way, Methinks he doesn't want a lawyer because it essentially ties the judges hands, because the judge doesn't want to give him any loopholes

It's lucky for you he decided to represent himself, because if he had a lawyer it could have tied things up in court for a long time.
It's so weird...I just read a book about a month ago where a woman was one of those mail in brides and ended up in a very abusive marraige and so she ran away and decided to file divorce. In the divorce proceedings the man was so sure he was in the right that he decided to represent himself and ended up belittleing her so much that the judge threw him out.
Total dejavu moment right now.
