This is my first ever poem and I wanted to post it, so it might sound hard, and or missed placed so please forgive it
When the sweet dark night has long wrapped her cloak around the world. When everyone is safe and sleeping in their beds, but there lays a few, that harbor in the silence of the night, the nighthawks. We are the ones long lost in the darkness call. Some stalk prey, other look for God. But me? What do I do? I find you, I wait in the darkness, with her husky smell from cars and buildings, fill my nose. The moister on the ground from her tears, how slaty they are. This is where you will find me, in a run down coffee shop, drinking stale coffee, writing love poems for my love, as I eavesdrop on other patrons, listening to there pathetic lives. The bar man cleaning the tables. The air in the room is as dead as we are, this is where I wait. It sits on a dimly lit street, where not even the bravest go, and the sound of life is all but gone. So will you come? Join the night and her minions? Do you long for the sweet taste of the cool crisp night air? Can you stand her sometimes dead silence? Do you love the idea that while others are sleeping you hunt? I am waiting for you then and you can no resist because I am the night!
