I'm working on this avatar:

Edit: I realized the tattoos wont layer like that. I added Dreamish's suggestions and decided to see how the flamey armbands look. I wish I could better add orange in that area. Still looking for claws or a hand-held of some kind, maybe. Are there delicate flames that climb the arms?

As you can see it's missing... something. He needs some kind of hand-held or some claws or something.

Anyone have any suggestions/alterations? You can certainly change the tek-tek if you want to. I'm not going for 100% perfect matching.

...Probably toss out some kind of compensation for your help.

What about the Little Match Girl matchstick lit?

To me it seems like the general problem with it is that the top is too light and the bottom too dark.

If it isn't a problem with your inicial idea it might be good to change the color of the masquerade bangs to black. Playing around with tektek I also figured that the Depth of Hades boots seemed like a perfect match, but they aren't cheap.

Seeing the edit; this is what i wanted to do to it. XD; I know I really altered it, so I wasn't going to make it a suggestion... but I just found out it won't work anyway. The flame shirt is like a jacket, not a shirt. u .u;

I removed the skirt because it was too brown. And without the skirt, I had to remove the wings for balance. > <

So..
For your edit, the flame armbands are too yellow. To keep them, you'd need more yellow spread throughout the avatar and I'm not sure how to do that.
And the brown color of the skirt really needs to be spread around the avatar. I'm not saying you should do this either, but here's an example of.. trying to spread that color around: http://www.tektek.org/avatar/34481073

Oh, but what I do recommend is briar's shot gloves plus jack's creepy claws. The claws layer under the briar's shot. Maybe it'd work out in your outfit.

I agree with Cabby, the Infernal Spirt armlets introduce a whole new shade to your avatar and might be best to keep off.

With the addition of the Briar's shot there's little need to add orange tattoos since it covers up most of the avatar's leftover bare skin.

I added the necklace because it just seems to give some more detail to your chest area. Maybe a masquerade mouth can be added but it doesn't seem to look good on tektek.

Gah! Nothing was working out like I wanted (and the price was getting a little steep even for me) so I ended up playing with it in tek-tek for a long time and changed it substantially.

How terrible is this version:

To me it would look better without the Valhalla. It's too chunky and light compared to the rest of the avatar.

XD I was going to say the opposite. The valhalla is very bold, while the hair is very... light, soft... The rest of the items seem pretty bold too, so I was going to say remove the wig.

I think what it boils down to is that the perfect items don't exist to match your vision, Jace Quin. Well, I think they exist but they don't match each other. u .u I was trying to trudge forward with it since avatars can also work if the item textures pair up and the colors are semi-matching. The textures just aren't right. I think this is one of those cases where you have to just make the avatar exactly how you, yourself, like it~ :} And not worry about what we have to say.
Now, if you don't like that tektek, then we have a problem. Point out what you don't like and what you like about it. Maybe that'll help us try to pick items with you.

Well, I love the Tiger wig and that's kind of why I wanted to make a orange avatar at all. I have come to realize how hard it is to work with orange. There's so little of it and it's it's not from the same halloween it's all different shades.

I think the thing that has bothered me the most is that there are two distinct shades of orange that seem somewhat unavoidable for what I was attempting.

I think I will stick with this latest version. Thank you very much.
