Now this guy, Remi was looking forward to. He played the harmonica! If he was any good, Remi was fully prepared to grab his fiddle and participate in some solid country rhythm and blues. He was more fidgety than with Elarinya, partially because he didn't get to hear harmonicas often, and partially because this was his last call-back for this session. After Weylyn showed up and strutted his stuff, Remi was free to pursue other interests.

Tapping his fingers on the grass, he lifted up his hands and idly drummed a beat on his legs while he waited. This Weylyn wanted to learn strings or art. Remi half-wished Gwin had sat in on this one with him. Some friendly company would be nice on the job.

A beat perked his interest and Weylyn plucked his harmonica from his ripped up jean pockets and started to follow along, weaving his own blues take on the beat being drummed. It was a soft beat, because he was walking up for his call back, but a beat none-the-less and Weylyn loved any chance to show off his harmonica skills. He was pretty good, actually, but not the best. He had heard a lot better than him, but hey. He was still young, learning and willing to take any criticism thrown at him.

Peeking around a bush, his curly, hair was pulled back from his face and put in a pony tail, creating this... controlled afro on the back of his head. Stunning blue eyes stared straight at Remi from behind thick lashes and a face full of muddy looking freckles. He wasn't exactly textbook handsome, more like the country boy next door.

With confidence in his stride, he stopped right in front of Remi and started playing a good solid blues tune. He tapped his foot along to the music he was creating, thick tail swishing this way and that. When he finished, he bowed, stuffing his harmonica back in his pocket and grinned. "Weylyn's the name. Country's the game."

Remi looked up and grinned as a harmonica began to play in the distance, drumming the beat more loudly, then launching himself to his feet as he saw a face appear from behind a bush. "Remi," he said by way of introduction. "That was a pretty sweet tune right there, man! I'm definitely a fan of country." Hefting up his violin in illustration, he added "I've never had anyone to play it with before, so I'm looking forward to your call-back. It's obvious you've got talent, but why don't you really show off?"

Arms akimbo, looking him up and down, Remi offered "Show me what you got, maybe we can do a duet after!"

A duet, huh? With a grin on his face, Weylyn nodded a bit and grinned. "Weylyn, but you knew that. Show you what I got? Well, not to toot my own horn, but you'll be blown away." With that grin plastered in face, Weylyn put the harmonica to his lips and let out a single, soft sounding note for a few moments before following by another.

This was a kind of lullaby, or so it felt like. For the longest time it was soft, sweet notes filling the air. His tail flicked in time with the note changes and his face was so serene, eyes closed. But then the whole composition changed completely. The sound now was full of pain, full of heartache and even a bit of hatred. He was playing music he'd written about what had happened. The heartache would be felt by anyone who listened. Tears threatened to spill down Weylyn's face as he played; the notes breaking up just a bit as his throat tightened. And once more, it changed. It was happy, calming, but still laced with that bittersweet pain. A dark cloud opening to let the light in.

It ended on the same note in which it began and Weylyn rubbed his teary eyes before opening them and looking at Remi. He gave a bit of a shy smile and licked his lips. Man, he was thirst now. "I wrote that.... after a break up and I found friendship again..." He said hoarsely.

Remi nodded. "That's good. Music is only a way to reflect what we feel, another way of speaking, a way of expressing ourselves. Let that in."

Now that the music had begun, Remi seemed more serious (Which honestly wasn't difficult, considering how flippant he normally was). "Anyway, you've got good technical skill and a strong voice." he complimented. "However, I can't just say you're in yet, time for the boring stuff." The moment passed, and Remi was as easygoing as ever.

"Why do you wanna join the University?" he asked, "You gonna learn anything else here? What're, you know, your interests?"

Boring stuff indeed. Thinking about the question seriously, the Mane Coon shrugged his shoulders and gave an embarrassed smile. "I met.... a girl, Gwin, when I was about ready to just give up on life. If you know what I mean. I suffered bad heartache, fro a girl I thought I loved. Well, I did love, and I thought she loved me as much, but.... She told me she had another lover, a girl. I tried to be OK with it..

"Anyway. Gwin took me to her place and pulled me out of the depression. She told me she was a teacher. I .....am still staying at her studio, and struggling to get out so I can support myself, you know? I guess it boils down to; I want to play like she painted; from the heart. I want to get better. I can't be the best, I know that, but..." He paused and frowned a bit, tapping his harmonica on his chin. "I.... want to thank her this way, too. By going out and doing something."
