(There was some confusion regarding timeframes so this is going to be put on hold until the appropriate time. =3 ) Ever since they'd been cleared to learn to fly and go Between, Amelia and Sharath had spent as many hours as they could outdoors - rain or shine - to practice. The thrill of flying was something unparalleled for Amelia and Sharath reveled in the feeling of being aloft, her mood often improved by the sheer delight that she could feel in Hers. While still not fancy in her flight, Sharath's great wings shone when she spread them to catch the wind and her turns were wide but well controlled, soaring like an eagle for long periods of time. And, they found, the more they practiced, the longer Sharath could stay aloft without needing rest. It was truly amazing and it bound Amelia even more closely to her lifemate as they shared the thrill of newfound horizons. It was bright out this day, only a few fluffy clouds drifted lazily across the skies, and Amelia had taken the time to thoroughly oil Sharath's hide to the point it shone brightly in the midday sun. The young gold, about the size of a small brown, was sunning herself as Hers carefully attached the riding harness. The contraption was still fairly awkward for her to manage but they had time and she wanted to be sure of their safety. When it was finished, and fitted, Amelia eagerly clambered up onto the gold's shoulders. A few moments later, Sharath stood at the edge of a fairly long drop and tossed her head as she slid off, spreading wings after a short drop. It was easier to get into the air like this and she disliked looking as though she was labouring to get into the air - which she did (at least for now) when she tried to take off from ground level. With a whoop of joy, Amelia hugged her dragon's neck and together they flashed into the sky, wheeling as the predatory birds did.

Finally a chance to leave the confines of Telgar Weyr had reached its hands out towards L'pin and Shamth, the Blue pair having spent most of their time around the Weyr in the kitchens as of late. With a greater need for help preparing meals, L'pin had found himself lucky enough to be off the duty of outdoor work and inside. It suited him well enough now that the weather was growing more chill, and it also allowed Shamth more time to rest in their shared weyr.
When L'pin had been called to deliver a message to High Reaches, the reason he wasn't really sure nor did he really care to find out, he jumped at the chance to get his dragon ready for flight. Their leathers were ready from repair on a sevenday or so ago, and as soon as L'pin could call to his bonded they were on their way.
The pair emerged in the air near High Reaches shortly after their departure, L'pin complementing Shamth on his skill of getting them between so accurately, and they started their decent towards the Weyr with eyes only slightly wary for other dragons and riders.
There is something over there flashing in and out. A Weyrling perhaps, it doesn't seem very old.
Shamth's tone was overly pleasant, his mood the best it had been in many months, and L'pin merely peered in that direction with his inability to see and nodded in mock agreement. He mentioned that if the pair were they when they finished their task perhaps they would have to go and greet them, as L'pin had always fancied meeting a rider from another Weyr...at their home Weyr.
- - -
They accomplished their task rather uneventfully, the message delivered and L'pin urging Shamth to go between and get them above the Weyr quickly. The Blue responded in turn without any issues, though there seemed to be a problem the moment the pair re-emerged.
They nearly crashed into that same rider from before, a Weyrling as Shamth had thought, and the pair had to pull another quick flash to get out of the way without anyone becoming injured. When once again they surfaced only a bit away L'pin urged his beast to call out to the other Rider, to see if they were alright.
Are you alright?

When the blue blinked into existence less than a dragonlength from Sharath, the gold bucked, her great wings sweeping forward in an attempt at an abrupt stop and a loud trumpet of angry surprise. Amelia cried out as well and then hung on for life as her gold, stalled, twisted away in a spiralling turn that made the two dizzy.
Finally righting herself, Sharath was a little unsteady, the strain such a maneuver put on her relatively new flight muscles causing them to ache. Trumpeting again when she saw the blue off to side - having obviously gone Between again, the gold flashed her teeth, Well enough, had you not tried to kill me!
"Are you crazy!?" Amelia yelled, urging Sharath to regain the height they'd lost in the sudden descent. "You nearly killed us!" To nervous to let go of the reins at the moment, the new flier simply glared in their direction. Really. Who were they, anyway? I don't know who that is.... I haven't seen them around the Weyr before/
I do not know, Mine... But they are exceedingly rude. Circling, they caught an updraft and quickly returned to the same height as the blue pair. A pair of disapproving eyes swept over them as Sharath spoke, clearly exasperated, Explain yourself.

It's a Gold. Faranth Shamth, we nearly killed a Gold.
L'pin could feel the blood freeze in his veins over all of this, the suddenly knowledge of what could have happened terrifying his mind. If anything were to happen to a young Queen of another Weyr, it could wind up in an all out brawl that would not end well for him or his dragon. Shamth seemed to sense the unease L'pin was feeling, his tone not wavering in an attempt to keep spirits up.
Accidents happen. She is asking me what happened, what shall I say?
Get us closer. I will apologize then.
There was no need for the pair to move, the Gold and her Rider coming closer, and inwardly L'pin was praying deep down that Shamth would keep his cool around a Gold. The pair had never had any experience with them, save the time they spent with the Jr. Weyrwoman - now Werywoman and were getting their commands for the day. Other than those brief periods in time the pair had no recorded interactions, so this was a complete alien field for the massive Blue to be entering.
You will have to forgive me, Young Queen. I had not believed another dragon may be where I was when I came out, and it is entirely my fault that I did not take your presence into account. Do not hold my Rider responsible, for he had nothing to do with it.
L'pin was taken aback by the tone of Shamth's voice, not a single scrap of hositilty lingering on a single word. While he had heard Shamth act this way a few times before such events were rare and usually came only at the end of a massive scolding, but deep in his heart the Bluerider didn't even want to think that this could be taken another way.

Sharath snorted at that, eyes whirling with orange, as she considered the apology and did find it lacking. That, at least, was good - whoever this Blue was, he knew his manners, Be more careful, Blue. There are many Sr. Weyrlings learning to fly and go Between here... I will be most displeased if this happens again. How did you not know?
Amelia tilted her head as her gold spoke, wondering what the other had said, "What are you doing?" She called, frowning, her voice full of adrenaline-fed emotion, "You nearly drove Sharath from the sky! You're lucky she didn't hurt herself!"

Once again, I beg your pardon. We're not from this Weyr, merely making a delivery here, so we did not know. My Rider and I were unaware just how far along many of the dragons were here, as we are often uninformed of Inter-Weyr relationships.
Once again Shamth managed to keep his tone calm, his eyes an unnaturally calm blue-green. It was apparent he was doing his best to stay within the acceptable range of behavior, his mind knowing that anything he did would come in full backlash to his. L'pin was his only friend and his greatest treasure, and Shamth would rather go between alone then let him be blamed for anything.
"Begging your pardon, but it's a mighty big sky and I do believe you are underestimating your dragon quite a bit. She is a fine looking Gold who could easily recover, and it was indeed an accident. I don't pick exact spots in the sky to come into when we come from between so I had no possible way of knowing that you would be there."
L'pin's response was held in his normal tone, though it was clear he had some hint of nerves.
