So, this year the we decided to throw together a Saxophone Quartet for solo and ensemble. Ideally we would have liked it to be Tenor Tenor Alto Alto seeing as that was what the four of use played. But, he we were willing to move out from this. I play Tenor now, but played Bari last year for Festival and own a broken Soprano that my band director could probably fix and I could probably play! (The octave key kind of fell off. . .<_<) But, seeing as this is my Senior year I really wanted to play my Tenor, so the second chair tenor agreed to play the Bari because all my Director had was Alto Alto Tenor Bari.
Now, three weeks away from solo and ensemble our Bari decides that she WILL NOT play the Bari! On Friday we tried out hardest to find Tenor Tenor Alto Alto on JW Pepper and at a local music store but couldn't find anything other than Alto Alto Tenor Bari or Soprano Alto Tenor Bari. With nobody willing to play the Bari we need to find either two altos two tenors or a soprano two altos and a tenor.
Anyone have anything for me? Like I said ideally we'd like two tenors and two altos, but I'll take what I can get.
Also, if you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them. biggrin Thanks!

i don't know of any music that is arranged for A, A, T, T, but if you'd like, i could attempt to write some music for you. what would you say the average skill level of the ensemble is?

My friend is making a saxophone quartet too. So when I saw this I was like, "OMG! MAYBE IT'S THEM!!!" But no, it's not.
I could make a suggestion? The Mario theme sounds cool on sax. There are 2 problems with this though.
-It's probably too easy for you guys. -It's most likely not the type of song you'd play at festival. lol
Although, if you can find one that's not too easy, and you'd be allowed to play it. I'd be a great idea.
Have you thought of transposing?
Maybe you can transpose the four parts to fit the two altos two tenors and try to work something out like that?

Well, the problem with transposing is that we'd need to renew the copyright, if not we couldn't perform it. We only have three weeks.
