Ray entered the library and began to scan the shelves. Mira followed him for a while but got bored so she turned to a table and began to read a magazine. She would glance up and find where Ray was every now and then. Ray continued to look through the shelves, silently scanning the books for his subject. He would find a book or two and put it under his arm then look through it later and put it back where it had been. Mira finished her magazine and began to hover behind him again, this time noting the books he would pick out and put back. Most where old records of former students and weapons, yearbooks and things like that. Every time Ray would look through one, he would grumble and put it back.
This went on for a good hour and a half before Mira finally spoke up."If I knew what you were looking for I could help you."Ray smiled but didn't look at her. "Too late now. Found something." He held up an older looking tome that looked like it had been dragged through some dirt and no one had bothered to clean it off. Mira cocked her head."And what is it?"Ray set the book down on the table she had been sitting at and opened it carefully."Remember that mission we went on with Soi and Echo? And how the mission had just been a stupid retrieval mission for some thing unimportant? Well, I wanted to see if any other missions like this had ever been done.And?There has been in the past...a lot, way more than I thought there would.""That's it? That's what we came here for?"Ray gave her a weird look, as if this was the perfect thing to do on an off day."Yeah"Mira turned and walked toward the exit."Then let's go do something else more....productive.Ray shrugged but followed her out, heading back into the city.
