Death was just about to reply when she and Astelle flinched simultaneously. Perhaps it was too far away or too faint to tell for sure, but at least those two noticed something bad.
"Hey, Death. Was that a..?"
"Hai." Death nodded curtly to Astelle and turned back to Val and Aidan. "There's no time," she hissed, partially to herself, "Just get to the school. Warn the scythes there--the students as well. Witch magic was just used in the City."
Astelle was wide-eyed in bewilderment. Death was being far too serious. She in turn, directed her attention towards her child, nodding hastily in agreement with the shinigami.

Val looked over at The other two witches who seemed to be arguing back and forth with one another once more, however just with Death she paused slightly, however unlike them she was never really good at sensing people's souls, what was like a torch across a football field for them was like a Penlight from a mile for him; she COULD see it; but man she was bad at it. "Alright Cark" She said stepping backwards into a portal before vanishing, only after saying another thing. "Thank for not ruffin me up"

John Toppan The doctor is: IN~!
It'd been a while since she came here to the Death Room; the last time she was here, her experience wasn't so pleasant. But, for Doctor Toppan, that was a different story. As cool, calm and collected as he was, he walked upon the steps that lead him toward Death and bowed, still holding little Amy in his hands as he cleared his throat and sighed,
"... Been a while Death-sama. I'm sure... You already know what's happened at Shibusen as well as Death City right now. Everyone's completely switched genders. Do you know what might be the cause of this? Nearly everybody's in a state of panic, I'm afraid."
Why was it that everytime he came here, he felt a bit... 'immature', compared to the controlled being that he was? He always felt like a small child speaking to a great figure such as Death, that it ate away at his confidence and made him feel like an idiot. How he WISHED to be female right now.
Males just weren't at all good at explaining things...
"It's just like with Sousuke. They've all somehow switched genders, and I'm not sure what might have caused this. Do you by any chance do? Is it witchcraft? Do you want me to deal with this? Or will you handle this yourself?"

Death turned around from her mirror again as another visitor entered the room. Astelle stood in the background and waved cheerily.
"Hai, hai, hai. I just sent out a couple messengers. Nii. They should be informing the school now," she stated bluntly, but not without gratuitous Japanese vocabulary, "It was a... witch attack," cue a glare towards Astelle, "that's gotten way out of hand. We have reason to believe it's a direct attack from Witch Elder Anemone. There's also the threat of a witch attack."
Death and Astelle flinched as they felt another witch's wavelength enter the City.
Death thought carefully about the situation for a moment. "It is like Sousuke... Everyone's wavelength has been corrupted as well from the change. I think the only way to overcome it is to attack it directly. Literally and figuratively. The children will fight."
Death looked back up at John calmly, while Astelle looked a little unsure, but didn't object. It made sense in theory... It was almost cruel to the children and without a doubt, dangerous, but with her own powers out of commission for the time being, it wasn't like they had a choice.
She'd been in the process of charging up her powers for almost an hour now, but she still needed a lot more time before she could work her magic.

Amanda Freed  "I'm singing in the rain... I'm singing in the rain... Amanda walked slowly through the door of Death's room, stumbling a bit from lack of caring. Her insane cackling continuing all the way through the city, causing several people to look and stare at the insane tall girl, covered in blood, carrying what appeared to be a dead wolf dog. "KYAKAKAHAHAHA..." The true laughter of insanity filled the room that she had entered, sending chills down Ame's small spine. Luna or Haunani laid on Amanda's shoulders like a boa on a rich's woman's clothing, laying lifeless except for the faint heartbeat that pounded on the girl's cold neck. "Oh Death-san!! HIYAHKAHHA..." Called Amanda in a sort of innocent tone as she walked through to see death she began petting the head of the wolf, still laughing her maniacal laugh. But... Can't we just go inside?

 Astelle's eyebrow twitched with increasing speed as the laughter grew louder. She was sitting cross-legged near the back of the pedestal, trying her best to focus her power enough to change genders of at least everyone in the room. Needless to say, the sporadic cackling wasn't helping.
Death fluttered around Astelle, trying to keep her calm, but gave up to go find the source of the problem. She didn't have to go far, as the culprit walked into the room... wearing roadkill.
Death wasn't one to judge though, and now was hardly the time to look down on others due to appearances. She straightened up and regarded the girl as though she was normal.
"Sumimasen? Can I help you..?"

"I see..." said John as he took in the brief report on their situation from Death; so it had been a witch attack. By Anemone, no doubt. He suspected that Sousuke's transformation had also been the work of the same kind of magic at work here, but he simply lacked any of the tools to back up this hypothesis. Besides, their were more important matters to tend to...
Against magic, Toppan wasn't so sure any of his drugs would be effective against this kind of spell. Not to mention the outcomes... A drug like that would take 5 months in advance. There was no way he could pull it off within a couple of hours. And knowing a spell like this, she estimated that not only would they have been affected physically, but their wavelengths might have changed drastically because of this shift in gender.
This, however, did not apply to him; however different he might've felt in body and in mind, the morphine saw to it that his wavelength be kept at a certain level.
THAT, and he sort of wished for this to happen.
It wasn't until Death caught his attention that he looked up and snapped from his thoughts, "Ah, madame... I assume you already know of our situation?"
Rhetorical question. He knew that. He was just poking fun at Death. As he always did. Didn't matter how scared he was, he just did it because it suited him.
"I've been informed by Astelle here that you have sent a messenger. What do you propose we do about this situation? I'm sorry to say that I've been... limited to the use of my drugs, and I don't think either one of them can reverse the effect... But... I think I might have something that'll help even their wavelengths... Can they still fight even though their gender has been changed?"

Death sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose... which looked odd because she it was the mask's nose she was pinching. She'd never admit it outright, but it pained her to put so many students on the line like this.
"Hai. Anything to stabilize their wavelengths would work nicely. If we're going to deal with the fallout of anything, I'd rather it be drug-related than witch-related. Regardless, we need to get the kids on the streets now."
She nodded back to Astelle, who was doing her best to focus on gathering up her own wavelength.
"Astelle does have the magic necessary to reverse the gender side effect, though with her magic on the fritz along with the weapons' transformation abilities, it'll take some time before we can fix the effects of the initial attack. It makes the most sense to attack the witches--"
Death winced again as she felt Kishin wavelengths pop up around the City as well.
"And the Kishin eggs while we try and fix the gender thing."

Amanda said still with the sort of madness that had been with her since finding out of the dog's identity. Her hand continued to stroke her wolf boa while she eyed Amy who laid in Toppan's arms. Messed up wavelengths? What was that about? Even through her insanity she could tell that her and Amy would be able to fight, even if Amanda had to swing the girl like a bat in her current form, she would still fight. "HEHEYHAHEHAYAHAAHA... Toppan, it seems that the dog is a witch, and not just that but a glutton for punishment. She is about to die again."But... Can't we just go inside?

Luna Luminesca  The Ice Witch - The White Wolf of the North
Luna's eyes slowly began to open, though it was clear from the wolf's stare that she had no idea where she was and was just on the border of consciousness. The world seemed as if it was swaying, and everything looked fuzzy. She saw figures that she thought were people, but she couldn't make anything out. She felt weak, and could tell that she was fading fast. She fought to keep her eyes open, to stay awake, but it was a fight she was quickly losing.
Luna managed to move her head enough to look at her body. She couldn't see any details, but she saw that her white fur was horribly stained with red.
A-Am I...am I bleeding? I have to...have to stop...the bleeding...but I'm so tired...I can't move...
Luna'shead fell once again and her eyelids began to grow heavy. Everything she saw in front of her began to seem almost as if it was fading away. She knew she had to keep her eyes open, fight to stay awake, but she was tired and in pain. As it all grew dark, the pain started to fade as well. She just wanted to close her eyes for a little while and rest, just for a little while...

The doctor nodded and began contemplating which method of chemotherapy would be necessary to help Shibusen's students with their shift in gender and wavelength and sighed as he scratched the back of his head and yawned...
This... Might take a while... With Death's permission, though, there was nothing that could limit his intelligence. His skill and his thirst for creating a new kind of drug that wo--
His thoughts were then disrupted when he heard 'Kishin' eggs... So the witches decided to play that way... Ehhh? Perhaps... It was time... To test out his new drug... It may not have been quite ready it, but he was quite sure, it would be most effective during this twist in time and in turmoil...
It WAS enough to kill a kishin... And to think, if they could just manage to hold but one witch captive for interrogation; heh, Toppan was already thinking ahead here... Perhaps not outloud, but sure enough, he was... As always...
It wasn't until Amanda came in that Toppan let go of Amy and walked over to the youth with his neck tilted, "Ahhh... Poor creature... I thought I told you once, I wasn't quite good with animals... But neveryoumind, let's get to the infirmary; I can't work here without my precious chemicals... I think I have the perfect drug whipped up for little doggies like her, fortunately. Could you tell me the precise details of her injuries, Amanda?"
