All seemed perfectly fine at the Whisker household. Bridget was playing with her favorite mouse toy and Amelia was attempting to draw a picture of her parents. Evan and Beatrice had gone for a car ride to the grocery store to pick up more milk for the twins. They left the girls in the care of a teenaged babysitter, Grace, who was watching the news intently. She was able to keep tabs on the twins and watch T.V at the same time. But then there came a knock on the door. Grace jumped to her feet and went to the door.
"What's the password?" She asked, the family had a secret password just in case.

"This is the police," A man stated. "We have come to bring some news..."

Grace stood shocked for a minute but eventually opened the door. "C-coime right in officer..." She stuttered, she had a sense that something bad happened.

The officer scanned the area with his eyes before turning to Grace. He was a young officer but that didn't stop him from staring into Grace's eyes.
" I believe you're Grace?" He asked, then quickly continuing. "M'am, I regret to inform you that Mr and Mrs Whisker died in a terrible car accident..."

Grace's eyes widened sharply, they were dead? Her gaze shifted to the girls who were blissfully unaware of what had happened. Now looking back at the officer she sighed.
"What about the twins? They just can't be put in foster care...They might get seperated!"

"All taken care of miss..." The officer replied. "They left a will after the twins came to live with them, they're both going to the same family as requested by their parents."

Grace breathed a sigh of relief. Good, they'd have each other.
"Well, I guess you'll be taking them now..." She mumbled. "I loved these girls like my own siblings, they are very different...Amelia is a bit of a loner but Bridget is a little social butterfly...Please take care of them..."

"We will Miss, I promise..." The officer said before turning to the girls and sighing. "Girls I need you to come with me...Okay?

Bridget smiled and toddled over to the officer as if she knew him. Amelia on the other hand blinked, she had to leave? B-but mom and dad will be home any minute! At least she thought until she was scooped up by Grace and taken outside and into a police car. Bridget was beside her but she still didn't feel comfortable. Where were they going? This didn't seem right to her. Where were mom and dad?

As the car drove off Grace waved goodbye with tears in her eyes, she prayed that the girls would be alright.
