 Strolling along, acid dripping off her jaw, Kaulai padded about, seeming as normal as could be... except for the far off look in her eyes.... or eye. Having been running around chasing a butterfly, she had smacked her head against a tree, jostling the bones in her ears which caused a painful personality switch. A sharp tingling feeling shot down her spine and nerves, causing her to twitch ever so slightly and the acid to drip down her neck furiously. Her goal was aimless as she hardly even registered that she was walking, and so unless someone happened to chance along at finding her, she might just continue until she bumped into something else and jostled the bones in her ears that connected deep down to her brain.

Gunju was out searching for a good muddy spot on the ground from the night's rain, hoping to ease the itch the scales on his back and thighs caused him. Sometimes he wondered if he was more lizard than lion, but it was a cool concept to him so it didn't bother him much. He was about to jump into a puddle of mud when he spotted a familiar lioness lost in a trance. He rushed over to her, a worried look on his face as he nudged his nose against her chin. "Kaulai...? It's me...Gunju...you alright?" He put his paws around her, stopping her from wandering around, and just held her in a protective lion embrace. "I'm here..." Looks at the bones in her ear, wondering if she'd hit them.

All of a sudden, Kaulai was stopped though her paws kept trying to walk onward. It wasn't until the voice registered in her mind that she stopped moving all together and simply sat there, staring and drooling. Her one eye seemed distant despite the fact that it remained eerily transfixed upon Gunju, her tongue lolling out the side of her jaws and dripping acid. Somewhere in the back of her mind, the presence inside her knew this lion and so was content to sit there in his arms, though why she wasn't sure. She was still blissfully unaware of everything around her but him.

Gunju watched as she stared at him and it was obvious she was lost in a sort of funk. He just didn't know how to bring her out of it. Worry clouded his eyes as he licked her cheek, keeping her tight in his paws, trying to think of what to do. "Oh Kaulai...what can I do...? I want to help you because..." He moved until he was looking her in the eye, his paws gently cupping and rubbing her cheeks. "...because...I love you...Kaulai...Please come back...at least tell me what to do..."

Lost inside her body, Kaulai screamed inwardly to try and get out but her body could not move. The only thing she could do was drool and lazily flop her head into his, trying to nudge the bones in her ear but not nearly having enough force to jostle them completely. Instead she repeatedly tried over and over, though it looked more as if she was swaying back and forth, flinging drool and staring mindlessly like a zombie.

Gunju pulled her closer, fighting tears by now when his words hadn't snapped her out of it. Then something hit him. Her ear, the bones! Was she trying to hit them on his head to move them? He bit his lip hard and moved her to a sitting position. "Please...let this help..." Hesitantly he touched the bones, moving them then pulling away so his paws rested on her shoulders. "Kaulai...?"

Sitting unnaturally still for a few several moments, Kaulai's eye finally blinked. Then a large smile spread across her jaw. "I love you too!" she said frantically as she bounded around him, crazily energized... and revealing the third personality locked up inside her muddled brain. Her crazy hyper happy side. Giggling madly she batted him gently with her paws, all four of her paws, stopping to rest on her front paws and swing her back legs in the air, clinging to the bone she held. Tilting her head, she smiled. "I'm really glad you came here, really really really really REALLY!" she clapped her hind paws together.

Gunju sat in place, holding her until she shouted her love for him in his face pretty much. He jumped backwards, eyes huge from shock. But soon enough he was bounding around with her, happy tears rolling down his cheeks. "I'm soo happy Kaulai!!" Feeling her contagious energy he moved behind her, picking her up while her hind legs were in the air. Basically he had a hold of her legs so that she could do sit ups against his tummy. "You have a lot of energy!"

Kaulai giggled, as she tickled him in any place she could reach. "Yes I always have energy!" she grinned, this persona completely unaware of her other persona's unlike the mindless zombie. She tilted her head backwards and let her tongue fall from her mouth as she drew it over his nose and up his muzzle to his forehead. She then beamed an innocent smile in his face. "Don't cry silly." she said, patting him on the head. "Lets play a game!" which was the common response to almost anything that you'd get out of hyper Kaulai.

Gunju let go of her after she'd licked his nose and face, moving in to return the favor with his own tongue. "I have energy too ya know!" He pushed off his hind legs and put all of his weight onto his front paws, staying that way in a sort of paw stand. His wings helped him keep his balance until he pushed forward and did a summer sault, trying to keep away from her ear. "Hahaha!"

Kaulai laughed as she imitated him but did a somersault and ended up landing on her back paws, standing up straight fairly easily. "Your totally cool Gunju! Do it again!" she laughed, clapping her paws before falling back onto all four. She flapped her wings, starting to get a little too carried away.

He saw her getting excited, but her request was too much for him to ignore. He wanted her to have fun so he kicked off, balancing on his front paws again. "See?! This is fun Kaulai!" He tucked in his wings and did a summer sault again, landing flat on his back this time like her.

Kaulai laughed and rolled over to him. "Your the best! I haven't had this much fun in forever!" she grinned, which was saying something because hyper Kau was always having fun. Grinning she nuzzled him a bit before bounding to her paws to chase another butterfly, giggling madly. She ran straight for a tree.... but swerved last minute as the butterfly did. However, the second time she wasn't so lucky and smacked her head right into the tree, jostling her bones and brain. Blinking, she fell back down on her butt hard, staring at the tree for a few long minutes.

Gunju laughed, licking her when she nuzzled his chin. As she chased after a butterfly he watched, getting ready to run for her until he saw her swerve, a sigh escaping him. Just as he was about to sit back down she went around again and smacked right into the tree trunk. His heart seemed to stop as he saw the bones in her ear move, and in an instant he was by her side, waving his paw in front of her face. "Kaulai...? Can you hear me? Please answer me..."

Blinking for a moment, Kaulai stared at the tree, drool dripping down her chin. After a moment she let out a growl and began furiously swiping at the tree with her claws. "Who dareth put this loathsome tree in front of me? Cursed foul creature! I slash at thee!" she snarled in a tone and accent that totally wasn't her own. Hissing, she backed away before springing at it again. "Have at thee! Die! Die I say!"
