I've been playing CT through on the DS and have noticed A LOT of changes to names and script. While I realize most of this is likely due to a more appropriate translation for each beast, tech, or line... some of it bugs me.
The biggest issue I currently have it Frog's lines. WHY did they take out the old english?? It was awesome to have him speak with the thee, though, and arts... now he's just too average. Even for a Frog guy.
Also the tech names have confused me a couple of times... D:
your experiences?

Personally, the new names/terms don't bother me much.
I find a lot of them rather interesting... like how magic "tabs" and the like are now being referred to as "capsules" (but that kind of fits; no one ever uses the term of "tab" as a nickname for tablet anymore). However, I do agree with you on how they've changed Frog's dialogue - I miss the oldspeak, especially since it made total sense given the time period he's in.

I think I agree with you for the most part. The new translation doesn't feel as good I guess because I've played the original so many times and I've had it pretty much memorized.

Well yeah, for the most part, I thought the original translation fit well enough to not need any real major changes. And Glenn's dialog definitely did NOT need to drop the Old English(I love that stuff). But I guess there are some parts that were actual improvements over the originals. Take Crono's technique "Confuse" for example; it makes a little more sense being called "Frenzy" since the name "Confuse" would probably lead you to think he was casting a spell to muddle the enemy's mind, or something to that effect, which I believe is actually what I thought it was the first time I saw it(to that end, one might have even reasoned to have called it "Blade Frenzy," as "Frenzy" may just make you think he would be casting a Berserk spell). Luckily I don't think they changed all that much though, generally speaking, so for me, it's not TOO big a deal, I suppose. It works out OK overall, but for purists (like myself I suppose, at times) the original dialog and names would probably be preferred for the most part.
