i don't know if anyone else said this, but there was one belief of birthmarks (especially dark ones) being a sign of how you lived or died in your last life. my religion doesn't say anything about them, but from some of the new age stuff i have read, that's what it indicates. could also depend on how clear cut the birthmark is.
and i'm trying to figure out why i have a birthmark on my inner thigh near my genetalia. i can't really figure out how i died, and it evidently doesn't have another significance.
My birthmark is a star on my hiney, and as far as I can gather from historical research and what I know about how far bullets, arrows, throwing knives, ect.. The only way I can think of for any death wounds there is being impaled by Vlad....

1) What sort of meanings are behind birthmarks for your religion or culture or in your beliefs? past? destiny? lineage? birth?

None as far as I know although you will find beliefs in certain meanings due to remnants of the individuals cultural upbringing such as in Mexico in the Yucatan there is an incredible amount of superstition from the Christians Mayan heritage.

2) How do you figure out the meanings?

Make up a story that sounds good and go with it?

3) What important symbols do you have in your religion (not entirely pertaining to birthmarks)?

Stigmata.

4) What does the symbol of a five point star mean in your religion/culture?

It use to be symbolic of the five wounds of Christ.

5) Do you think an all one colored star would count as a pentacle or is it just a fivepointed star without the pentagram in the center?

The star would be a pentagram, the circle makes it a pentacle at least according to most.
