When I first started playing I didn't understand gambits. I hated them and only had the cure and attack slots set, and with really unreasonable trigger commands to boot.
Now that I'm nearly done with the game I don't hit anything on the controller during combat because I've got everything covered. Literally everything. Attack (aerial, ground, and monster weaknesses), status ailments, healing, libra, removing protect/shell/bravery/haste from monsters, giving myself useful spells, and even stealing. I never steal anything, yet I have a gambit for it. Waaaat.
Share your gambit experiences, or even gameplay tricks you learned in the beginning, never used, and now they come naturally. surprised

Oh gosh.
When I first played I set a Cure gambit for everyone in my party. I used to get so annoyed in the middle of a mob when the fighting would stop and everyone would be busy healing. Fortunately, I got smarter.
I have one person on healing and status removing duty, a hybrid Green/Time mage and a party leader with dispel-ing gambits and lure.
I steal all the time. Once got 99 Fire Magicites while in the Highwastes, making a nice amount of gil. I loved hearing the "click" of the total add up when I sold them all.

Out of curiousity, who'd you make your Green/Time mage? c: I love that click noise, too! I always have to look up new items I get in my guide book/online, though, or I'll end up selling some rare metal.

Fran or Ashe.
But mostly Fran. All I had either of them cast was just Protectga, Shellga and Hastega.

I have Vaan and Ashe as my light armor front line fighters, Basche as my heavy armor front line fighter, Balthier as a long distance fighter, and then Fran and Penelo as long distance/healers. I don't think it would hurt to have Penelo as a Green/Time mage, though. c: -ponders-

Yeah, I'd hate it when we were all out of Mp and then while running around we gained some, so while we're running through this dungeon, and SOMEONE has to freaking stop and just cure once since they have enough MP from that running around, so they get left behind.
This is probably really confusing and weird to read, but I couldn't explain it any other way. :c
