So I'm trying to color with Paint Tool SAI, except I can't really get the shading properly. I use the airbrush for base colors and shades, and then tutorials in DA say to blend it with the brush. Except I don't know exactly where to start and how to move to blend it.
All help appreciated. Thanks!

In my opinion Sai is more useful for line art, and inking scans.if you can, try open canvas its much more friendly

what tablet do you use? is it the bamboo tablet? because i've heard that the bamboo has all sorts of problems with SAI. :/
however, if you're not..i'll give you tips. the brush tool? it's more of a smudge tool than anything else. if you give it some pressure, it'll put down more color, and you can smudge the color around with lighter strokes. the brush tool is ideal for blending.
also! the water tool! it's like a blur; but a lot more gentle and pleasant to use in my opinion. instead of scraping your tablet furiously with blurring tools, i sometimes like to use the water tool and dab the color just a few times and they smooth out nicely.
