The years hadn't been that great to the lioness who laid her head down her rest, her eyes heavy as she let out a sigh. She'd not seen her mate in ages, and the only child of her to come by was her daughter.
She licked her muzzle, her mouth felt dry. She needed a drink, rising to her paws, the well aged lioness walked to the small pond of water that she claimed at her own, lowering her muzzle she lapped up the cool liquid.
The sound of wings flapping over head caused her to look up, ever hopeful to his return, her eyes were met with the sight of her winged daughter Lilith, whose cold outlook on life was cold and her heart, but the look she held in her eyes now, told her everything she needed to know.
Lilith looked at her mother and her heart broke into a thousand pieces, the only one to ever love her without wanting something in turn, to love her and all her wicked ways. She padded towards her mother with a soft purr and was greeted with a loving nuzzle, nuzzling her mother in turn, Lilith draped a wing over her mothers now frail body.
Twisted nuzzled her daughter lovingly, the light touch of her wing caused her to be held lightly against her, she grunted and nippled at her daughter roughly to let one she wasnt as weak as she seemed in her old age.
Laying back down under the tree she'd been resting under, she waited until Lilith laid with her, resting her head onto her daughters paws, her ever fiery eyes closed as she sighed.
Lilith looked down at her mother, crimson eyes sparkling with swelling of tears as she groom her mothers head softly, purring. "Rest now mother...All is well..Your children are happy..your grandchildren thrive..Your blood runs strong in us." She said softly, nuzzling her ear lightly.
Twisted smile and then chuckled, "Aye..my daughter. It does.." She curled her tail around her daughter as she tilted her head, and licked her paw lightly. "I love you all.." She said softly as she took a deep breath.
Lilith was to choked with the tears threatening to spill down her cheeks to say anything, instead she merely nodded her head, her paws kneading the soft earth under them as she continued to groom her mothers head and neck. She'd never forgive her father for leaving them...for never returning she vowed silently to herself as she gazed down at her mothers frail body.
"I love you Lilith.." Twisted whispered softly, her voice a light whisper as her body was ready, even though her spirit clung on.
"I love you too Momma.." Lilith nuzzled her mother, burring her face into her fur as she listened to her mothers heart faint beats.
The moments followed silently cept for the pairs soft purring, curled around one another, Lilith's wing draped over her mother, keeping her close as Twisted laid there.
And then..she was gone.
Lilith's tears spilled down as she sobbed now, hard ragged sobs as she clutched her mothers body close to hers, her tears spilling down over her mother sandy coat as she cried. Lifting her muzzle to the sky, a roar echoed out that matched the grief that had swelled into her chest, causing her throat her ache as tears stained her face.
Her Queen, her mentor...Her mother had passed away.

Ellidanio had no real understanding of why her paws carried her this way... But then, they usually had the ability to know where her heart belonged.. So she followed them, moving at an easy walk or lope that slowed until her steps dragged and dread weighted her heart. She knew... Something. Death, she recognized it's feeling, the loss, the heartache, the understanding... A great warrior, a great leader, was gone. They had met so long ago.. When they were young and Ellidanio wild -she hoped Twisted had never lost it- and freely moving through the lands. And they were friends. Ellidanio had always been intrigued by her coloring and personality... And now to think... The winged one remained guarding the fallen figure, crying and roaring to announce it. And though she might not be welcome, Ellidanio moved closer. "Farewell, sister." She offered softly, bowing and pressing her muzzle to her forepaws. "Though it has been many years, I have thought of thee, and missed thee.. And though it might offend that I call thee such -my sister-, I mean it. I do count the friend, and I will miss you for the rest of my days. I wish that I had known, I would have been here sooner." She rose from her bow, nodding her head to the winged one, tears leaking down her cheeks. "Farewell, my friend... And I hope, one day, I will find you again.."

((*Finally spots this and feels bad for not noticing it earlier*))
Ori hadn't been far away when he heard his sisters roar of grief. He hadn't even noticed how close he was to home until he heard her. The sadness in her roar made him alert immediately and he rushed to where the sound had came from. His body was on high alert now fearing something was hurting his sister and despite the fact they rarely ever saw eachother anymore he still loved her enough to come to her aid even if his aid didn't help much.
What he saw when he came into view of the scene was not what he had expected. Three lions were gather. He noted the stranger first and then he saw his sister sobbing over the still lifeless body that was his mother. That was when it all hit him. His mother was dead. His whole body seemed to sink under the weight of this knowledge. Tears immediately began to form in his eyes as he slowly walked forward towards his sister and mother. Once he was within a foot of the two of them he stopped and gazed down at them with wide eyes full of tears now. "M-momma..." Ori managed to choke out before he collapsed on the ground in uncontrollable sobs. He'd never been a very good son but he couldn't believe he'd missed her very last moments of life. The chance that would never come again to tell her just how much he'd trully loved her.
