hm... i like the true earth and wind runes. a lot of it is because luc and sasarai are two of my fav characters, but i also like runes that have healing and status effect spells as well as attack spells ^^

Melikochan The Rune of Beginning -- Bright Shield and Black Sword. Pretty awesome combo, and while the Black Sword just wreaks pure havoc, the Bright Shield is awesome for healing. I totally agree with this... Healing and Defensive spells from the sheild and Attacking spells from the Sword. That's the power of the Rune of Beginning.

Either that or the Gate Rune(Windy's rune + Leknaat's rune)

Soma Mahanon Tsaigenkaku I like the Bright Sheild rune in suikoden 2. I thought it was very unique and I liked the healin quality to it. Unfortunetly, it's not a True Rune. It was part of one though. Rune of Beginning.

As far as design goes, I like the beast rune. Other than that, I would go for the soul eater.

It's hard to choose a rune. I like the Soul Eater and the Blue Moon Rune. Sierra is cool and her rune too. Sadly that she only appears in Suikoden 2 and Suikoden Gaiden 1.
From the element True Runes I like the wind and earth best because Luc and Sasarai are my favs wink

True Fire. Good at wiping out a field of enemies, you can prevent damaging your allies with fire resist equipment or simply making sure spells are cast before your other chars move in to fight the enemy head on (wizard hat/fire magic ring/Jeane).
Outside of combat use, I think it's an incredibly cool rune in general.

my favorite though i never truely got to see it in action and it is only mentioned in the 1st game is the Dragon Run owned by the commander of the Dragon Knights he does use it once in the game but you never really get to see how powerful it is

I love the True Lightning Rune mainly because the level 4 attack is so strong.
