...the only thing I know of Japanese is to say KAMI! (god) From Death Note, yes.

I love the Japanese language heart I've learning it right now- with the help of a fluent tutor and through studying on my own. I'm going on a trip to Japan in May, so I'm trying to learn the essential words and kanji I'll need to know over there. I have the spelling and pronunciation of my allergy down, and I plan on bringing a laminated card with me that on one side in the written style of Japanese says "I am a vegetarian" and on the other side says the same thing in kanji, the character form of Japanese writing. I know enough Japanese to order food at a restaurant, so according to my teacher I'm fluent enough in the language to get by on my own if I absolutely had to- though I won't seeing as my tutor is leading the tour of Japan I'm going on and we've already made a deal that we're going to stick together so I don't accidently order something with turtle blood in it by accident on my own. (Yes, the Japanese do like to ingest turtle blood 3nodding They mix the blood with alcohol, and plop one of the turtle's internal organs into the drink to add flavor. I found it quite interesting to learn about)
