So, our boys are back!!! We've waited and waited and it has paid off!! So, what did everyone think of the episode!!
My favorite are all the references made, especially the Hannibal one. And of course PUDDING!!

PUDDING!
My BROTHER (who doesn't like Supernatural) actually re-wound the TV (Yay, comcast!) and made us watch it again. N-Now me, my mum, and brother, are going to randomly giggle over pudding cups, leaving my father and uncle out of the loop.
Also, I was VERY happy with this episode. Me and my mum were dismayed at the wait, and were considering dropping watching it. We're REALLY glad we didn't, as this episode had all the ingenuity that we've come to expect from the boys and the show, with the added bonus of...
PSYCHIATRIC MUMBO-JUMBO! <3 Which is... awesome. Especially since some fanfiction authors have already psycho-analyzed the boys, it's even more giggle-worthy to see it happen in the show.
THOUGH. I did have one disappointment: No Cas. Mischa's name wasn't even in the opening credits...

I actually was not very happy with it, we waited a long time for this new episode and it just didn't have the wow factor.
Yes it had some good points, it was pretty funny in places. "Yes Clarice" "Pudding!.....Crazy works"
but overall I dont think they explored the boys crazyside enough. Nor did it advance the plot line any, which makes me sad. No Cas and no real mention of Lucifer or what they are going to do next makes for an average episode.
I mean truthfully after all the things that Sam and Dean have seen and been through all that haoppened when they went crazy was Sam got really angery, and Dean saw and talked to a hot chick. I just think the episode would have been much better had they started the timeline later, and it was not a comedy episode.
I seriously think had they started the episode with sam and dean already in the hospital, already crazy, seeing and talking about ghosts ect. and played the "Maybe they really have been crazy this whole time and they have just been acting out their little adventures in there heads" card it could have proven to be a very emotional and in tune with each of there boys real emotions. Maybe in a sesion we could have finally gotten to find out about how Dean really feels since he holds soooooooooooooo much in.
But from the preview I was really hopeing that it would start with them in a theropy session were the doctor would say something like
"You've been here 3 years and you still haven't made much progress. I understand that the loss of your father in that horrible crash on top of losing your mother in the fire was hard on you two, But you can't just hide from the pain by making up these little "moster hunting stories" You have to come to terms with it."
Of course you would find out later something was pulling the strings, maybe another Djinn Like in the episode "What is and what never should be" That way the episode could have been very powerful. Of course I fully realize that a Djinn would not be the best choice simply becuase the boys would need a way to escape from its hold.
The episode was not terrible, good enough to watch for entertainment, just not as good as I was hoping from the return show.....
"But its ok [supernatural]......cause your my brother....and I love you."

I thought the episode was good for the come back episode... I loved the Cookcoo's Nest, Hannibal, and pudding were all the best.... and I sooo knew that Nurse Ratchette was the ******** Wraith the whole time.... and we should have known that the girl shrink was not real because only Dean would have a hot shrink...

I liked it. ^-^ I guess I am a little disappointed about Dean no totally breaking down, but I guess it would ruin his character a lot if he did, you know? but it got me psyched enough for the rest of the season, which I have been waiting for impatiently since All Hell Breaks Loose.
Overall I thought it was a pretty good episode, and I can't wait for the rest of the season; I know this is going to be a good one. blaugh

I did really enjoy this one but it still could have been done better, the idea of the insane asylum, these boys having to deal with everything going on inside their heads could have been done so much darker - and would have been better had it been darker.
I feel like the only person who doesn't see "No Castiel" as a weakness in an episode. I don't want him in every ep, he works better when he's like Bobby, appearing in a fair number but still leaving the brothers to their own devices sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I love Cas to bits, wouldn't have gone to Collectormania if I hadn't. But I don't think he needs to be in every ep. I prefer him being absent for a while, then popping up and being AWESOME.
To be honest right now, I'm just happy to have the boys back!

It had its moments. There was more that could have been done but it was better than some of their other stand alone episodes. I'd watch it again down the line no problem but as of now it's not something to write home about.
No Castiel was probably a good thing for this episode. I still stand by my conviction that the show generally needs more of him but for this time around the mere mention of him served to fill that void. (hurm. maybe more mentioning is in order...) The ONLY time I approve of Castiel not being in an episode is when he can’t add something to it or improve it in any way (which isn’t being fulfilled by a long shot currently). Now, while his image certainly would improve anything in my book, his appearance couldn’t do a thing for the story thus better left unsaid.
Anyone else notice Sam still can't say Castiel's name right or was that just me? lol.
Oh, and favorite part was the very beginning when their checking themselves in. Especially when Dean says that Sam wasn’t evil he was just high and he said it like it was some great revelation like, "I just figured it out! Here's how we can explain it from now on!!" xD
