BakaTulip I still like her middle eastern fusion stuff. But that's mostly for my dance. I might just record my dance to Harem and put it on youtube Oh yeah. Her voice is good for other stuff. It's just.. PotO.. it gets to me. ;_;

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I still think Sarah was the best. Everytime she hits this note "And through music my soul began to soar." I get shivers it's so pure and hit so beautifully. I love how Sarah also hits the notes at the end of "Phantom of the Opera." I know everyone has different preferences, and I respect that. I would only ask that someone else respect my preference to the original cast recording.
Sarah had huge hair in the eighties, but pretty much everyone did. Guys had long, hair spray poofed up hair. In the eighities, poofy, huge hair was the in thing. You can't really blame Sarah for that. I really like how she looked in her red cape. I guess most of you would call me biased, but I really like Sarah's voice. I have no problems with her vibretto voice. Michael Crawford is also my all time favorite phantom. I have heard clips of other Phantoms sing, and most of them were pretty good. The only one I really hated was that one they showed in the movie DVD extras. You know, the one they showed while doing "Phantom of the Opera?"
Anyhow, Sarah has a beautiful, pure voice. I was nearly in tears listeining to her sing "Pie Jesu."

I did a YouTube search for Sarah Brightman and found tons of stuff. She is just awesome. I especially like It's a Beautiful Day and A Question of Honor.

Sarah Brightman sings this amazing song on ahhh in The Fifth Element, even though the actress is pretending to sing it. It is probably one of her best solo songs in my opinion. I don't like the way she dresses in some of her pictures now. Call me old fassion, but she is stripping down WAY too much. She is an amazing singer though. I have one of her albums.

Ah, I love Sarah Brightman...I can't really say if she's the best Christine or not, as I haven't heard many others, but she definitely has a wonderful voice for the role. She has a very pure tone.
I do think she sounded way better back in the 80's, when she did PotO and Requiem and all of that. If you compare the original recording of "Pie Jesu" to the new one from the Classics album, you can definitely tell. The first one is absolutely gorgeous, and the second sounds like crap in comparison.
Also a really good album she made back in that era was The Songs That Got Away. Her recording of "Meadowlark" is SO beautiful.
I still like her later stuff though. I think it's awesome how she mixes classical music and opera with pop and dance music...but I don't like her straight arias as much. Like, "Ebben? Ne andro lontana" is pretty but nothing compared to a recording from a proper opera singer. I sometimes wish she had gone into opera, I bet she'd have been an amazing operatic soprano.
My favorite album of her newer ones is probably Harem. I want to get Symphony so bad, but I haven't had any time for shopping. One thing that popped into my head when I saw the album though was, "Hey look, it's canon!Christine." The blond hair and all...

To me it makes sense that Sarah was the best Christine. The role was written for her after all. I do adore her voice, it's almost hypnotic to me. Then again, any good music gets my attention now a days....
