Preamble- We, the citizens of Corinth, come together to celebrate a common democratic value and a fellowship beyond the bounds of building infrastructure. To this end we pledge our mutual aid and cooperation to each other and Corinth as a whole.
Article 1: The Legislature- Corinth hereby recognizes all citizens to be members of the legislature. Any citizen may propose, discuss, and vote upon policies, constitutional amendments, and candidates for office.
Article 2: Public Office- Any citizen may run for public office. Any citizen may decline to hold office.
Article 2 Section A: Office of the Tyranos- Though all members stand as equals, Corinth sees fit to create and maintain the office of the Tyranos. The honour of Tyranos shall be bestowed upon a citizen by vote of his peers. It is his task to moderate Corinthian policy debate, as well as acting as Corinth's public face. His rank provides no privilege.
Article 2 Section B: Office of the Polemarchos- The office of the Polemarchos is created for the defense of the people of Corinth. The sole duty of the Polemarchos is to lead the Corinthian forces in times of war. The office is to be bestowed on a citizen by the popular vote of his fellow citizens.
Article 3: Citizenship- Corinth stands with gates open to any who desire to become a citizen. Citizenship confers the right to vote within the Corinthian Legislature, as well as the right to be nominated for, and hold, public office.
Article 3 Section A: Hyperetes- All residents of Corinth who have not yet become Citizens are considered to be Hyperetes. The Hyperetes hold the right to propose and discuss Corinthian policy, constitutional amendment, and candidates for public office. The Hyperetes are barred from voting on policy, constitutional amendment, or candidates for office, and may not themselves hold office. A Hyperetes becomes a Citizen of Corinth after participating within a Corinthian debate and having the sponsorship of three Citizens.
Article 4: Emergency Powers- Should Corinth be threatened by war, or face a similar emergency, the office of the Polemarchos has the right to declare a period of emergency. During this period the Polemarchos shall become the acting Head of State and Commander in Chief of Corinth.
Article 4 Section A: Period of Emergency- During a period of emergency no new laws, constitutional amendments, or elections for public office may be voted on. Citizens may vote to extend the period of emergency or to end it early. The initial period of emergency automatically comes to an end seven days after its declaration.
Article 4 Section B: Emergency Powers of the Tyranos- Should the Polemarchos be absent during a threat to Corinth, the Tyranos may declare a period of emergency. During any period of emergency the Tyranos may propose emergency measures to be voted on immediately by the Citizenry. All emergency measures cease to be active when the period of emergency ends, and must be discussed and voted on like any other policy should a Citizen wish to repropose them.
Article 4 Section C: Mandatory Review- Following any declaration of a period of emergency both the Tyranos and Polemarchos will come under mandatory review. During this review either Officer may be dismissed by the Citizens of Corinth following a vote. The period of review is to begin no later than one day following the end of the period of emergency.
