"I don't mind them, usually. It simply startled me." Dokutaa said in response to the look on Spirit's face.

As they stepped out into the light, he gasped. "Oh...what a beautiful place is this!" He missed his old home, but this was more than he'd hoped for since the incident. He shook off the remnants of the tunnel and gave the place a more thorough look-around.

"Thank you," he said after he had taken in what he could from his current position. "I suppose I owe it to you...to tell my tale."

"Hahaha, I suppose it does have its own type of beauty doesn't it? Some see it and think of it as a flea den, I see it and I think castle! Ramparts and drawbridges, tall walls and a mote! Hee hee, everything a castle could need eh?" spirit giggled happily, glad to see his newest comrade shared his vision of what was likely to be the big husky's new home.

"Pfft..thank me? No need to thank me, I haven't done anything yet, not really. Not as much as you'll do for us I'm sure. We need ourselves some big strong types you know, even if they do seem more ah..gentle..then most would expect" his ears lifting with his soft grin, tilting his head to the side as he gave dokutaa a nod. "Story's are a wonderful thing, part of what binds us you know.." the husky seemed in a mood to talk, and spirit was more then willing to listen.

Dokutaa settled in and took a deep breath, remembering. Once he started, the story just seemed to flow out of him. "I was raised by a philosopher, though I never knew his name; he always seemed to be alone, so I never heard it, you know. He would often get sad, but he said that every time he saw me it helped him feel better, so he called me his Doctor...." He shifted slightly.
"One morning he was murdered, and I did what only seemed right - I killed the murderer. Yet it seems the people did not see, for now I am a marked dog. They believe me dangerous, and will not hesitate to use their weapons upon me. I can no longer be with them." He closed his eyes to stop the mass of tears that threatened. Anger rose in him again, but was soon returned to its depths, and he looked up at Spirit with tired eyes. "So now I am here. Thank you."

Spirit's ears drooped as he listened, his tail seeming to loose its wag, laying there limply as he watched his new friend speak. Finding it rather hard to listen to the sadness in his voice, see how much it hurt..So many hurts in the world....

"Ah my friend..Heh, if nothing else your story will only make you more then welcome here! Think of this place as the home of last resorts, the end of the old line and the beginning of the new! Hahaa...If nothing else we'll find your deeds heroic, pfft even if the other muddle heads of the world are too lost to understand what you've done. We'll accept you for it!" it was truly sad to hear the husky, such a large strong dog, had lost what sounded like a beloved owner.

Still..maybe in a way it was fate..Dokutaa seemed reliable, with a righteous anger burning within him, and yet a very soft kind heart.

The big white dog had to smile at the response. "How about you, then? For you, there must be a reason, as well."
