Example Match
I will use the Sheamus vs. Randy Orton World Championship at the Royal Rumble as an example. And for example purposes lets say it is a cage match.
Shemus
+6 points for defending a world title at one of the Big Four PPVs (The Royal Rumble). He would also get +4 points from winning a cage match.
So from just the match he gets:
+6 points (Successful Title Defense at a Big 4 PPV)
+4 points (Winning A Cage Match)
___
10 points total for Shemus just for winning
So lets assume he never hit a finisher and that is all he gets.
+6 points (World Title Defense at a Big 4 PPV)
+4 points (Cage Match Win)
Shemus's Match Total: 10 points
Orton
+1 point (Participating In A Cage Match)
___
1 point total for Randy Orton
However lets say Orton managed to get in 2 RKOs and a low blow he now gets
+4 points (Finisher)
+3 Points (No DQ Low Blow)
___
7 Total
So Orton now has
+ 1 (Cage Match)
+ 4 (Finisher)
+ 3 (Low Blow)
___
8 Points total
So last lets say Shemus attempts a Celtic Cross but Orton reverses it.
Orton now gets
+3 points (Reversing a finisher)

3 Points total
So
+1 point (Cage Match)
+4 points (Finisher)
+3 Points (Low Blow)
+3 points (Reversing a finisher)
Randy Orton's Match Total: 11 Points
So as you can see that is a basic of how the points work. The winner does not necessarily get more points.
