Oh Gawd! 3 posts in a row! I think I'm just going to delete the extras and put all of my stuff on one post.
Anyway, the American character's names are going to be Rex and Ester.

I'm pretty sure 1/2 the stuff in torchwood isn't allowed on network tv until after 11. Also the actors make the show and I feel like too much will be altered for the US. When's the last time you've seen 2 guys kiss outside of HBO... I suppose that's why Starz may take it.

I read the description just now, and the premise itself sounds interesting enough. I hope they use this opportunity to finally strip Jack of his immortality, because I think it tends to hurt the show when one of your main characters is never really in peril because he can't die. The new characters don't sound all that interesting to me (a convicted murderer/*****? I hope it plays out on screen better than just a lame attempt to be edgy).
I did like Children of Earth, though. Much more than seasons 1 & 2, which I felt were very hit-or-miss from one episode to the next. So if they're using that as the template for the new season, I guess I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll turn out okay.

Just saw the trailer yesterday on Starz...looks like quite an epic story, but doesn't seem very "torchwood"...But hooray for Jack being around, and a big "aawww!" for Gwen's baby...also howled and punched the air when Gwen was on a plane [?] and some woman said something like "If you're the best England has to offer, God Help you!" and she responded "I'm Welsh!" and then punched the girl out.

Ah, here's a question: Will we be given an explanation?
For those of us that have seen Children of Earth, we know that Jack decided to be an a** and run off to have a pity part left Gwen & Rhys...Now I understand that not everyone who will be watching Miracle Day saw Children of Earth, and therefore might not care...but for the benefit of the devoted fans, will there be an explanation as to why he left and when/why he returned?
