Mismatched honey brown and blazing maroon eyes searched the training field as he waited for his Patron. He had just recently parted with Kade who went off in search of his own Patron. With a scarf wrapped around his neck, the male watched as his crystallized breath disappeared before his eyes. Perched on his hind legs besides him was a green and black wolf. The small wolf flicked his tail lightly before curling it around his slowly chilling paws. There weren’t very many out at the moment but that was to be expected. After all, it was winter and most would rather be inside rather than out. This one notion gave the new Apprentice a feeling that his Patron wasn’t exactly happy with him. Think they’ll show up soon, BlackJade? he asked his wolf slowly so as to let the adolescent pick up the words.

BlackJade was waiting patiently when words started to form in his head. He realized that it was his bonded who was talking to him. He had to wait a bit and think to get what he was saying. When he finally knew what it was he was being asked, the black and green wolf made a shrugging motion with his shoulders. He really didn’t know if the older rider and wolf would show up soon. He was only hoping so since he could tell that Jace was starting to feel the cold seep into his bones. Still, he knew the human well enough to know that he wasn’t going to start complaining until he felt like his fingers were going to fall off. That would be when he left for hist barrack, which he found earlier, and would then lose his temper at his Patron when he did find out who they person was.

Turning his eyes towards the young wolf, Jace smiled lightly. Come on, let’s wait under that tree, he said before starting to move for the tree. He could tell that his partner was following close by because of the fact that BlackJade nearly tripped on the human’s foot. After getting under the tree, he leaned against it as he watched everything that the few riders out were doing. Eventually he was lost in his thoughts.

"Why did I have to be seated with this assignment? Me, a patron?" Surely there could have been a mistake somewhere along the lines, but that wasn't likely. Not when he thought of just who was pushing that paperwork and assigning those tasks to the lot of them. Really he shouldn't be surprised that his turn to be a patron had come around. He could count himself lucky that he hadn't had to deal with the task before, and probably should be counting that luck now. A glance over at the wolf walking alongside him gets a slight roll of the eyes. "You're unusually cool about this, do you have something in mind, Shade?"

The dark-furred wolf flicks his tail to the side, taking a moment to scent the air for a new wolf's presence and turning to lead Shun in that direction before he answers. I think it will be fun. How often do we get to torment someone else and they not able to do a thing about it but take it? Not counting the little moments of chaos that a few of the wolves, himself included sometimes, enjoyed causing over at the Academy during winter to scare the recruits that were training outside once their training had finished. Really there was hardly anything more fun, perhaps watching the chaos a certain pair of children caused now in the fort could be counted up there pretty close though. Speaking of which, it could have been worse for you. You could have been made babysitter for a few weeks. A wolfish grin spreads over his maw as he watches the near cringe that Shun gives to that suggestion.

His ears perk forwards though when his eyes spot their quarry first, and he gives Shun's hand a nudge. That would be them, probably. Or the other Private Apprentice that was in the fort. But he'd put his claws on this being their pair who looked so impatient by that tree.

As the green banged let his mind wander, BlackJade was watching everything around. Mostly he was paying attention to find their Patrons, but he was also paying attention at the training that was going on. He wasn’t going to mess up crazy. No, that was not happening. Shaking his head, the green and black wolf noticed a mop of red hair in the distance. As they got closer he could see that they were headed in the direction of the two of them. Jace, Jace, Jace! In the short period of time that they had been together, he had at least learned how to say the human’s name. When BlackJade was sure that Jace was to deep in thought to hear him, he jumped up and head butted the teen in his side earning him a responsive, “Ouch!”

Jace rubbed his side gently before looking at his bonded. Ouch. Did you really have to do that? Actually, better question, what is so important that you had to head butt me in the side? He said the last part a bit more slowly after realizing how fast he was talking. His eyes traveled in the direction that BlackJade pointed his muzzle in. There were a rider and a wolf coming towards them. Oh, never mind than. He could tell that his wolf was tempted to move forward but instead stayed still by his side. Jace on the other hand allowed his eyes to soak in the wolf first and then the man. BlackJade was staring at the two as if hoping he could see right through them. It was kind of funny.

The first thing to catch Shun's notice about the pair is the large abundance of green. That could play out well for the wolf in spring, but not so for the rider, given their forts and choices of uniforms. A light smirk plays on his face when he notices the young wolf giving a headbutt to his new apprentice. Well hopefully that wouldn't be a sign of things to come from a short attention span. Once they are in range, he simply stop walking to look at them, a few feet away. "Private.." Now, here would have been a good place to have paid attention to the name of who he'd be dealing with, wouldn't it.

Nightshade pads alongside Shun, content on letting him deal with all of the introductions and letting himself just enjoy the ride, so to speak. Until he sees how the younger wolf is staring at him that is. Flicking his tail lightly at Shun when the man stops, he keeps on walking, ears at full attention until he is standing over the smaller wolf and staring right back down at him. A dare to keep it up. Sure, he may be just a gamma but only a higher ranked wolf could stare him down like that and he not do a thing about it. here, he very well could. Do you have something to say, pup?

The older pair had finally decided to show up at the meeting place. They sure liked taking their sweet time. Being the person he pretended to be, Jace kept these thoughts to himself. With BlackShadow just recently reaching his adolescent stage, he didn’t want to put the young wolf in any serious danger. “Greetings,” he said in turn. It seemed the man hadn’t caught his name from whoever assigned him to be the teens Patron. Still, it wasn’t like the apprentice to outright ask for someone’s name. Unlike his little brother, he preferred to take a smoother, less obvious route.

The tuff ball of green and black, watched as the bigger wolf continued to walk while his rider stopped. Looking up, he found himself looking up into the eyes of the wolf that towered above him. It was clear that the mostly night colored wolf was daring to keep up the stare. To match him. The his voice reached BlackJade’s mind. With a bit of thought and searching his memories, he was able to make out what the words that had been directed at him meant. There was indeed one thing he wanted to say. He wanted to say, exact words, ’I can’t even talk.’ That was all. But considering the fact that he couldn’t talk, he said nothing and lowered his gaze, shaking his head gently. If only he wasn’t this small and young.

Shun doesn't seem at all impressed with such a bland little greeting though, and covers the rest of the distance to once more stand at Nightshade's side. A short inquiry to his companion tells him all he needs to know for the moment before he crosses his arms. "A word of advice. You would want to teach your wolf some manners, and the language quickly. Wolves here don't take well to insubordination, no matter their age." Should he even have to mention the Alpha pair? Probably not. Now then. "Your name, Private."

A whuff of air is exhaled at the younger wolf before Nightshade takes only a step back, content at that for now. You have a lot to learn here, pup. And it would be tough learning if Shade had his way. He would definitely not be letting some wolf leave his training to act out in front of the Alphas, it would only reflect bad on him. And he did not need any reason to have either of them, Twilight more so, angry with him for not completing such a simple task the right way. Some days he felt for their male Alpha, hearing other wolves gossiping about Twilight in a bad temper. Other days, not really at all.

Jace wasn’t there to impress, so if his new teacher was wanting someone who tried everything for the praise and attention they sadly craved, well, guess he was assigned the wrong guy. His clashing eyes took in every single movement the man made as he made his way towards the average height male. Now they were all in one tight little group, all standing near each other. “Jace Kinsley,” he told the guy with the mop of flaming hair. He hadn’t said anything back to the comment about needing to teach his wolf. Obviously he had to teach the new adolescent. After all, the green and black wolf had just left the cave. Besides, he actually had a brain that he used. Unlike his flirt of a brother, which meant that the man should be happy that Jace wasn’t Lysander. Made him wonder how his Patron would handle him when he bonded. BlackJade, from now, please behave and don’t give them anything to challenge, alright? Jace asked of his little bundle of fur that was besides him.

BlackJade may not have had full understanding of the language but he understood bits and pieces of the conversation. Usually just single words, sometimes a fragment of a sentence. Of course he was going to learn as much as he could. He promised to himself that no matter what, he was going to be the best wolf there could ever be for Jace or anyone in the Kinsley family. He wasn’t going to give anyone the benefit of the doubt that they would forever be above him. Not going to happen. As for now, the adolescent lowered his head, flattening his ears slightly onto his head. His mom had at least shown him this. Granted he hadn’t understood her at the time, but now it made sense.

Shun files the name away for now. Though depending on how much he really cares, he may be asking for it again. "Private Kinsley then. As you may, or may not be aware of, I am Private Hades. For the next several months you will be my charge and I can promise you right now you probably will not be enjoying your time under my wing." That said, he relaxes his posture a bit. "So what did they teach you last at the Academy before the pups were born. It's been a while since I had to sit through all of that headache." Not that life on the fort was any less chaotic. But it was far less dull.

Nightshade contents himself to sit down now that his point had been made, but his eyes never leave the smaller wolf. He glances once towards the new private before he just decides it isn't worth his time at the moment to intimidate the young man, yet. That would come later if he decided he needed it. Tail absently flicking over to thump against Shun's thigh he looks up at his rider again. You sound like you're bored already. If that wasn't the understatement of the week.
