Lake Quote: "Every battle has a story...but every story has an ending."
Character Name: Lake Hikari Nickname: Lake, Puddle (he'll kill you), Hikari Age: 21 Date of Birth: July 7th Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Race: Angel/Demon hybrid
Appearance: 5'10, 130lbs. His eyes are a deep, unusual crimson color, his long, scruffy hair a dark ebony, both of which stand out strikingly against pale skin. His body his heavily scarred, including a crucifix-shaped mark across the left side of his face. He wears a sleeveless black trench coat with a high collar over an old, tattered gray t-shirt. His dark pants are worn and tattered as well, tucked into a pair of thick buckled boots. Torn, dirty gauze is always wrapped around his wrists and forearms, and he wears a fingerless glove on his left hand. He is a little on the short and thin side for his age, although he is relatively well-built despite this. Depending on whether he is "transformed" or not, he may have any combination of fangs, spindly claws, and three massive black or white wings. When these characteristics are present, they are usually accompanied by areas of prominant, swollen veins on his body, most often around the neck, wrist, hip or chest. Picture: Lake
Personality: Interacting with Lake is a constant rollarcoaster for the poor souls who find themselves crossing his path. He can range between wary and guarded, whiny and childish, overly perverse, bitter and humorless, and on occasion, even tentatively caring all in a matter of minutes. Whatever his mood, however, he is always slow to trust and overly suspicious of everything around him. He has a voracious appetite that is only heightened after he has reverted back from a transformation, to replenish the energy he's lost. Otherwise, he may well fall asleep for several days and not wake up until he's recouperated. He is extremely stubborn. Although he'll never admit growing fond of anybody due to being ridiculed throughout his childhood for "pretending" to exhibit any human-like qualities, his true feelings toward others can be glimpsed at brief moments when he forgets to keep his guard up. Despite everything, he is very determined. Having made several attempts on his life in the past, only to find in an ironic twist that he doesn't seem to be capable of dying, he feels there is nothing wrong with putting himself in otherwise-fatal circumstances when the situation calls for it. Coupled with his quick healing abilities and refusal to acknowledge pain, he often tends to make reckless decisions. His stoic nature in regards to pain does not extend to the common cold, however, and he will be the first to complain when inflicted with a minor illness or issue. Lake is embarrassed about the physical transformations he undergoes, in particular, his wings...he also goes through great lengths to hide most of his scars. He hates being fussed over and struggles to respond to positive reinforcement...this is the easiest way to draw his old stutter back into his voice. Many people lose patience with his personality very quickly. Character Flaws: Prone to violence, mood swings. Struggles to control the two conflicting sides of his soul, which are threatening to tear him apart. Alignment: Neutral-Good History: Lake is no stranger to endless white hallways and chilly research laboratories. His father, a renegade demon, took to lusting after an angel that he then captured twenty one years ago, forcing her to make love to him despite the ancient decrees banning such relations between two beings of such opposite natures. Lake was born as a result, and cast from both heaven and hell to earth due to his soul possessing both angelic and demonic qualities. Seeing as how he could not exist in either the divine realm nor the counter-divine, his descent to earth was marked by the removal of one of his four wings - a symbolic gesture meaning that he could never return to either realm. However, he was also marked by a crucifix-shaped scar across the left side of his face, signifying his heritage. Condemned to the middle realm of earth, Lake was taken in and raised by a mad priest with a lust for dabbling in the supernatural. The priest had spent many years researching the nature of angelic and demonic entities, but limited by his own human form, he could only progress so far. However, Lake's arrival opened to him an overwhelming range of possibilities, and the angel/demon hybrid spent the first ten years of his young life as something of a guinea pig, undergoing both scientific and supernatural experimentation based upon the priest's previous research. On his tenth birthday, his own powers manifested fully for the first time, and he managed to break free of the priest's dark hold. Primarily clueless in the ways of life and how to live it, having spent his childhood isolated within labs and churches, Lake began living on the streets, learning how to fend for himself and cope with an unfamiliar world. Having never been told of his unique heritage, he believed himself to be a human distorted by the priest's experiments, his wings the result of some kind of implantation, his claws and fangs a genetic mutation. On the streets, he struggled immensely to keep these mutations under control, but the unstable nature of his very soul sometimes causes him to lose his mind, transforming into an angelic or demonic entity with no awareness or sense of self. Many people have suffered or died at his hands as a result, a knowledge that lies heavily on his conscience. His years on the streets, coupled with his troubled upbringing, have caused him to devleop a callous and unpredictable personality that revolves around hostility and distrust. However, he is not all bad, especially considering he is of partial angelic heritage, and will secretly do anything in his power to aid those he (reluctantly) begins to care about. He had long since become accustomed to his freelance street life before waking up in an unfamiliar room within The Facility. He was one of the first to wake, if not the very first, and as a result, prides himself as the 'leader' or 'old sage' of the prisoners. Though his knowledge is limited, he has a basic knowledge of the surrounding area and has taken steps to ensure survival until a method of escape is discovered. At first, he believed himself recaptured by the priest for further experimentation, but has since been convinced otherwise.
Weapons: Makeshift blade Items: None Abilities: Extreme speed and strength, flight when his wings are present. The natural healing process is sped up for him, although the healing itself is by no means enhanced. Skills: A keen eye for accuracy with things like slingshots, a bottomless stomach, and fair experience in basic first aid Danger Level: Red
Likes: Booze, women, sex, food, more food, sleep. Dislikes: Non-alcoholic beverages, no women, bad sex, stomach aches and sleep deprivation. He also loathes being taken advantage of, and can't stand the idea of being somebody's experimental puppet. He isn't too fond of himself, either, although it often seems that just the opposite is true.
Friends: He's never had any Enemies: Everybody Lover: None
Theme Song: Broken (Seether)

Cage Quote: “No thank you, I prefer my tea black. LIKE MY SOUL.”
Character Name: Cage Nickname: None yet Age: 29 Date of Birth: December 19th Gender: Male Sexuality: Who the hell knows?
Appearance: Despite the fact that he is only approaching his thirtieth birthday, his hair is a compete, silvery white color. His eyes are a pale gray, which, along with his hair, makes him appear somehow ghostly. His features are slender and pointed, and he has a sly aura about him, like a fox. A twisted, possibly perverted fox. He usually dresses very smartly and neatly, preferring white suits with bright, black or red plumage for his tie and dress shirts. He sometimes wears white dress gloves as well. He gives the appearance of some kind of businessman or successful mogul more than he does the lead scientist of a massive corporation...which is precisely what he is, along with his partner-in-crime. Still, at first glance, he appears to be calm, collected and in control...a man to be easily approached. What a sad misgiving. Picture: Cage
Personality: Cage is slightly insane. And a little weird. And kind of creepy. And a tad bit twisted. Add that all together, and you've got one of the most bizarre human beings ever to grace the earth. He won't go to hell when he dies, but that's only because he might frighten its occupants. His personality is difficult to discern because it is almost impossible to predict how he will choose to react to a situation. At times, he can be giddy, almost playful in his sadistic ways, but his humor can be short-lived. When he decides to be serious, he becomes cold-blooded and merciless. Remorse is not a word in his vocabulary, at least not in regards to himself. He views those with supernatural abilities as flawed and inferior, and believes that they should be properly ashamed of their differences. He does not hesitate in shaming them, yet at the same time, he is not below trying to seduce them for his own selfish gain and indeed, seems to enjoy doing so. His obsessive nature has robbed him of any life outside The Facility, and his existence revolves around the empire he has built...though in a way, it all appears to be nothing more than a game to him. Character Flaws: Well, he's bloody psychotic. Perhaps a bit of an emotional sadist? Alignment: Evil History: Cage seems to have little to no interest in his past, and it is questionable whether he even associates himself with it any more. He was raised strictly, showing an interest in science and physics early on. His mental aptitude stretched far beyond those of his peers - perhaps too far. Although friendless, he seemed to care little, preferring to be left alone to his own devices. Unsure what to do with their changeling, his parents allowed him to do as he pleased...however, Cage's interests soon turned to obsessions. Left unchecked, his behavior spiraled into a world that consisted solely of the world he had built around himself. Unsated by the sciences of the world, he turned to a new source of stimulation: the supernatural. Graduating top of his school several years before his time on a distracted whim, Cage delved further into his obsessions, seeking out the new and largely untouched phenomena of combining science with the supernatural. When Cage's parents were killed in a freak accident and the boy seemed hardly to acknowledge their demise, the detachment he had developed from reality became more prominant. To Cage, the world outside his studies was inconsequential, and he did not exist within it. He found people to be frustrating and slow, their lives illogical and pointless...he was comforted far more by an equation linking physics to supernatural occurances than he did the touch of another human being. As he grew older, however, Cage began to grow out of his shell...a growth that was distorted and twisted by his years of seclusion and obsessiveness. A loose canon with a broad and unpredictable personality, he found a new project to obsess over - the creation of The Facility. His latest 'project' is the thing that occupies the majority of his existence nowadays...
Items: A pocket watch, pager, bottle of scotch, set of keys and keycards to the Facility, a picture of a flower Skills: Cage may be bizarre, but he's not dumb. With six Master's degrees under his belt and a PhD on the way, he can pretty much become the brains behind any operation. Hence the birth of The Facility and its most recent 'mass experiment'. He has a knack for breaking people and bending them to his will. He also makes a mean pot of tea. Rank/Occupation: Co-Director of The Facility
Likes: Science, power, control, supernatural concepts, tea Dislikes: Everything else
Friends: Xanatos, Nicholas Bruntham Enemies: None Lover: Whoever the hell he wants - whether they consent or not
Theme Song: Still Alive (Portal)

Eir Quote: "It all seems like non-sensical non-sense to me."
Character Name: Eirgail Tisdell Nickname: Eir, Tizzy, Gail, E. Age: 10 Date of Birth: April Fool's Day Gender: Female Sexuality: Neither Race: Human - Welsh
Appearance: Everything about Eir is very dark, save for her near-bloodless, porcelain white skin. Dark hair, dark eyes, dark clothes...even a giant, dark top hat atop her dark head. She has enviously thick (dark) lashes, noteably sculpted facial features for her age, and dainty hands and feet. She sometimes wears white dress gloves, and is rarely seen without her toy magician's wand. Despite her very small-boned, feminine form, she wears her hair choppy and relatively short and boyish clothes. Aside from her too-large top hat, an oddity in itself, she dresses in a child's suit - smart black pants, a tailcoat, shiny black shoes, a blue tie and white, long-sleeved shirt with a collar. She keeps herself very clean, neat and well-dressed, despite her odd behavior and wild hair. Even for the tender age of ten, she is short...however, no one ever mistakes her for a younger child. Her eyes are extremely alert, a wise, adult-like quality to them that isn't usually present in children. Additionally, she always wears a very calm, serious expression on her face, and speaks in a prompt, articulate language that makes her appear older. At times, her quiet maturity is somehow eerie. However, Eir's maturity does not extend to any kind of sexuality - unlike most girls her age, she has absolutely no romantic interest in either gender, and appears to be completely asexual. Coupled with her strange personality, some have said that she exhibits autistic tendancies...however, her deep insight into certain matters and extreme higher level thinking prohibits her from being placed on the spectrum.
Personality: Eir does not so much have a personality as a lack of a personality. Regardless of the situation, she maintains an air of nonchalance and tranquility. Even the direst of situations and crises do little to affect her calm persona. One might go as far as to say she suffers from some form of psychosis, as she does not seem to be affected by the suffering or jubilee of those around her, and hardly seems to have any emotions of her own. However, she is, ultimately, neutral, and does not seek to harm people as many psychosis patients do. If she has known someone long enough and grown close enough to them, she might even go as far as to show some subtle inclination of care - a touch of the hand, lingering eye contact...but even then, she is hardly a shoulder to cry on. It isn't as though she is bottling up any hidden emotions...she simply remains unaffected by the world around her. Even when discussing her interests, few as they are, or any dreams or ambitions she might have, her tone does not change, and any regular childhood excitement is eerily absent from this ten year old. Character Flaws: Humor eludes her; she takes everything seriously, and completely literally. She tends not to spare people's feelings, although she doesn't actively seek to hurt them. She finds it perfectly natural and acceptable to speak her mind...however strange her mind may be. She will collect anything she finds interesting, whether it might belong to somebody else or not. Sometimes she talks in rhymes or riddles for no reason. Alignment: Neutral History: One would expect a dark and chilling upbringing from someone like Eir, but the truth is, her background is merely different, not horribly depressing. Her abilities manifested early on, but her parents, a very well-to-do, educated pair, were not sure how to handle their daughter's bizarre personality and strange powers. They provided what they could for her - a top notch education, plenty of books and tutors, and all the best that money could buy. However, they also tried to hide the child's oddities from the rest of their friends and acquaintences, struggling to uphold their no-nonsense, higher class image...for Eir was decidedly full of nonsense, and cared no more for class than she did anything else. They fretted over her happiness - she was certainly not unhappy, but she showed none of the excitement or joy that a normal child should. Her parents attempted to surround her with others her own age, but Eir seemed unable to make or keep any friends. Sooner or later, all the other children became afraid of her, unsure of how to handle her and alarmed should they discover her strange powers. It was on a hot sunny afternoon one day, when Eirgail's parents took her to see a magnificent circus production passing through the town, that the young girl's life changed. The gypsies seemed to sense Eir's true nature when she was called, by chance, on stage for an audience participation number - following the show, they fled with the child, passing through the rest of the city and continuing on their way with Eir in tow. It was of their keen interest to tap into and hone Eir's powers, open her eyes to them and even show her how to control them. Although Eir regretted not being able to say goodbye to her parents, she seemed just as nonchalantly pleased to be a part of a gypsy troupe than she had the daughter of rich Welsh parents. Eir's training was not able to be completed before she awoke, seperated from her gypsy family, in a holding cell amidst the other members of The Facility.
Weapons: None Items: A wand, a plastic spinning top, a lucky rabbit's foot, a nickel Abilities: Mentalism, consisting of: telekinesis, cryokinesis and ESP Skills: Very obervant, tends to notice things that others do not. She is also good at card tricks and other basic magician acts Danger Level: Blue
Likes: Magicians, tricks, lucky charms, wind-up toys, odd trinkets, collectibles, doves, music boxes, circuses, clocks, numbers, colors, books Dislikes: Loud, raucious, rambuncious people, physical affection, sudden noises and movements, messes and spills, high temperatures, bicycles
Friends: None Enemies: None Lover: Unlikely

Quote:
Character Name: Jihara Fairchild Nickname: Jiji Age: 26 (in appearence) Date of Birth: August 9th Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Race: Spirit
Appearance: As her mark of her race, Jiji's hair is a very unusual color, which is a bright, mystical white. It falls somehow unnaturally about her face, almost as though it is made of the lightest air, and never quite settles or conforms to gravity. Beneath her swaying bangs are deep, dark eyes that are simultaneously sharp and gentle...a lot of her expression is held in her eyes. Because she is a spirit that dwells in the beliefs of the east, her doll-like eyes and features are slightly oriental - she almost has the appearance of a geisha doll. Although she is not weak, her slender, delicate form makes it look as though she will shatter upon the slightest touch. Her skin is transluscent and looks like porcelain...as she is a spirit, she does not suffer from blemishes or skin conditions - thus, it is soft and flawless. Her slender, delicate fingers and toes are painted red, and she wears somewhat of a tranditional eastern getup that resembles a kimono. The scarf she wears around her neck is to hide the scars there. Like her hair, her clothes seem to flow seperately from the law of gravity in fluid, liquid motions. Sometimes, she looks as though she may not quite be real, or solid, but one can still reach out and physically touch her. Occasionally her feet do not quite touch the ground, and she has a faint, ethereal glow that is noticeable in certain environments. Picture: http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg124/faeriefreak102/108.jpg
Personality: Cool, calm and collected...perhaps a little on the 'strict-but-motherly' side. It is hard for her to settle down and not take things too seriously...her rare jokes are forced and terrible. She is much more comfortable being serious and level-headed, and her calm yet stern persona makes her a natural-born leader. She may appear very cold at first, but she can be very nurturing. Her patience sometimes dwindles around rambunctious boys and immature people, and she will be quick to smack them upside the head and scold them into better behavior. However, her irritation won't stop her from tending to their wounds or trying to make them feel better when they aren't doing well. She is very protective of those she cares about. Jiji tends to know and understand more than some other people simply due to her nature as a spirit, and she has no qualms about correcting the misinformed. She is happy to explain what she can about people's powers and abilities as they learn about them in The Facility, as she loves to teach others. She is a strong woman, and it is hard to break her...however, her past torments her and although she continues to love others, her love for the one she has lost never fades and forever weighs heavily on her heart. Jiji is modest and reserved, and does not like promiscuity. Character Flaws: Can appear cold and a little blunt. No-nonsense attitude. Has little patience with fools. Terrible sense of humor. Alignment: Good History: Jiji is a Spirit of the East, one that listens to the prayers of those who come to various shrines - bringing them nurturing and health if their hearts are pure. It is hard to gauge how long she has existed for or how old she really is, as she lives outside of time. She is, however, very mature and wise. She takes her duties very seriously and cares deeply for living things. It is because of this, perhaps, that Jiji made a mistake that befell many spirits before her - she fell in love with a mortal. A good, honest man who created a shrine and prayed to her each day. His life played out during a plague in the 1500s, and although he had lost both his wife and children to the sickness, the love in his heart and earnest longing to help people never wavered. As Jihara was a spirit of peace, nurturing and health, he asked her every day to ease the pain of those around him, to save the ailing members of his remaining family and their friends. He even prayed for the dying strangers he passed on the streets...and yet, not once did he pray for himself. His kindness and selflessness drew Jiji to him, and she did what she could to answer his prayers, bringing him great joy. Jiji herself found joy in his, and was touched that the man still came to her shrine to pray even when he had nothing to ask of her. He came only to thank her, to speak to her and tell her of all he found wonderous about the world around him. Over time, the two fell gradually and deeply in love. Neither Jiji nor the man had ever loved so strongly or purely, and they became each other's entire lives. The shrine became their center of existence, as they spent each possible moment together...even as her lover aged and aged, Jiji's love for him never wavered...nor did his own love for her. Eventually, they made a pledge, and formed a bond even stronger than that of marriage...a bond that spirits could make between each other to bond their souls for all eternity. Each spirit possessed a single piece of string, one that could be tied into a bracelet - the one whose wrist it was tied around became that spirit's soulmate for all of time. Jiji's lover, being human, did not possess such a bracelet to exchange with her...but she did not care. She came to their shrine on the day they had promised, prepared to give her bracelet - her soul - over to the man she vowed to love forever. When he arrived, the man presented to Jiji a present of his own. With his own hands, he had woven the most beautiful bangle of reeds. It did not possess the powers of the spirit string, but each weave had been created with the man's strongest love for Jiji, and the symbolism remained the same. And so, the two exchanged gifts, tying each bracelet around the other's wrist and forever sealing their bond. The next day, Jiji's lover - her husband - was killed. Just as Jiji had never known such love before him, she now knew no greater loss. As a Spirit of the East, she could never rise to the heavens and reunite with the human soul of her lover...and would never be with him again. In blind agony, Jiji swept through the lands, her cries like a howling wind that was heard in the hearts of all that lived. Without escape from her pain, Jihara roamed aimlessly in torment, pleading the destruction of her own existence. Forgetting her own immortality, she took a blade to her neck and slashed, desperate to die, to rise to heaven and rejoin her lost lover...but of course, she never would. Much time has passed since then, but the pain in Jiji's heart has never faded. Regardless, just as her lover continued to cherish and love the world in light of the death of his family, she vowed to do the same. Although the experience has matured and changed her, she continues to answer the prayers of her followers, and is willing to help those in need whenever and wherever she can. Jiji has been sealed within The Facility by ancient ruins and anti-shrines, keeping her from simply fleeing its confines. In order to escape, she would need another escapee to destroy those ruins before she could be freed once again. Weapons: None Items: A bracelet made of spirit string, signifying a bond between herself and another. Abilities: She has the ability to heal one person by transferring their injuries to another person over time. The amount of time it takes to complete the process depends on the severity of the wounds she is trying to heal. However, she does not have full control of her power, and cannot specify who will recieve the injuries of the person she is healing. Therefore, using her power can be dangerous for her allies as well as her enemies, and even herself. Skills: Very nurturing and motherly, has a knack for helping people feel better. She is also very light and nimble. Danger Level: Green
Likes: Living creatures, respect, intelligence, maturity, tranquil settings, miso soup Dislikes: Immaturity, rambunctious people (especially boys), disorder, whining, violence and discord, war, people not trying their best
Friends: None Enemies: None Lover: Deceased
Theme Song: Hiru No Tsuki (Akino Arai - Outlaw Star)
