I apologise if this is in the wrong place, seemed to fit the bill.

Anyway, short and to the point on this one, I like writing out a lot on my mind but this one is really self explanatory. The Internet, music videos, any TV after 10 PM on 4/7 days of the week... hell just about anywhere. Nudity is everywhere, sure many cases are censored, covered up and whatnot but the thing is, I personally have seen the Female form, nude in many ways... I recently realised that at this point, I prefer whats over the skin. while I still think that the woman's body is beautiful, and it does at times start the mind racing, lately, I have become more interested in elegant, or intentionally sexy. Gowns are beautiful in the elegant fashion and that beauty stirs my mind at times, and stuff like skirts, stockings and whatnot also, in a different way start my mind....

Anyway, I know preferences are unique, but I honestly feel like I am just not seeing what many others do. oddly enough makes me feel of all things unappreciative, regardless of my complete lack of experience seeing the main point... I just feel odd when I come to this thought in my head...

I think womans bodies are the most beautiful thing on Earth. I believe that what men have is taken for granted. You can't be mad at videos though. I just get mad at society. You have to think. The guy is giving a girl money to sell her soul to the general population and what does she have to show for it? That she's a slut. You are right. Clothes help the image. It shows that they have personality. Builds character. I also think that it should not be on TV. I think people should just grow a pair and go out instead of sitting on the edge of there chari waiting for MTV to come on.

some of your wordings are a bit different than I would use, but I do agree that cloths do individualise people

I think that bodies look more appealing when they have some clothes on them. To me a fully naked body looks somewhat awkward unless it is posed in a special way or something.

That being said... It bothers me that nudity is so taboo in the first place. A woman that is comfortable with showing her nude body--something completely natural--is a slut?

A have a coworker that was telling me about how he HATES strippers and thinks that what they do is completely detestable. I feel that he is being very narrow-minded. He doesn't have to go to a strip club. More power to you if you can get people to throw money at you just because you're hot. I don't understand it when people think that nudity is ruining the world's morality or something.

I agree fully, standards, and general...common sense in terms of the human body is completely backwards in a lot of peoples eyes...it confuses me so.

I can understand his points. Its not like strippers are posing naked for art, they are using their sexuality to get money. The same can go for girls who are somewhat fully clothed, in a rather revealing way.

And...yes I can agree with what you are saying with nudity ruining the world's morality.

Ever seen Totoro? The bath scene? While i was away at this thing called Club Getaway for my summer camp (years ago I had to be 15), Totoro was playing. No one really paid no mind to it. Then the bath scene came on, and everyone freaked out. I guess it has to do with cultural differences more than anything...but bathing with others naked is such a norm in Japan, while in America its seen as being risque.
For the record, I'd only bathe with my boyfriend, or be naked with others unless its skinny dipping and I had too much to drink lol But I do see your points.

I didn't read the whole thread and I'm sorry if I repeat something but you say that a woman can be a nude and not be a slut and then you say it's okay for women to walk around naked in a highly sexual environment. That just proves the point that nudity=sex. Granted it doesn't always equal that but let's keep it real. Most of the time when people walk around with as less clothes as possible trying to show off their bodies, they have lustful intentions on some level if they admit it or not.

I don't think nudity automatically means sex or anything sexual. There are many places in the world where people wear very little clothing and where women are completely topless. I do not think those people are walking around with sex always on their mind because of it. And I don't think they think "OMG BEWBZ!!1!" all the time either.

I think we just have sexual thoughts when we see nudity basically because we have become uptight. We moved to colder places that required more clothes. We got used to being covered up. We got used to only seeing nudity in sexual situations. So now we see nudity, and we think sex. But that's just our society. It's sort of the way we taught ourselves to see nudity, not the way nudity truly is.

And in many ways, it's hurting us. There are so many people who really need to see a doctor but they don't. Not because of money, not because they're afraid of needles. Because they don't want to be seen naked. There are many women who are afraid to breastfeed in public, so they bottle feed (which is not as good for the baby) instead.

So nudity does not necessarily mean sex. It can mean sex. But it can also mean birth, a doctor's visit, breastfeeding, a way to cool off, just plain being natural, etc. And I really think we should push to desexualize it a bit. It's absurd that people are afraid to have a doctor see them or that breastfeeding mothers have to hide in a bathroom or wear a poncho.
