- I had went shopping this past Thursday and I bought some treats for myself.
I was finally able to buy the fourth volume of the manga.
Saiko Takaki's style is reminding me much of DC style of comics.
You can tell from the first volume to the latest one-- it almost seems that with each passing volume, the characters age.
The fourth volume also brings back some characters-- you can finally see D's reaction to looking at the picture Dr. Tsurugi shows D of the Lang farm.
It really is a nice adaptation of Tale of the Dead Town.
And Pluto VIII looks very comical.
But what I really wanted to talk about is Coffin: The Art of Vampire Hunter D.
I had been looking for this book for nearly a year.
Every time I went on the Indigo/Chapters website, they would say that the book was either out of stock, or was not available in the stores near my location.
But my perseverance prevailed and I was finally able to obtain it.
It was worth every penny I spent on it-- it could have gone for $100.00 and I still would have bought it.
Amano's art is simply beautiful-- magnificent.
There was also an art piece for the supposed last book, D-Armageddon.
It also features many of the works inside the novels, but they are blown up and take up much of the page.
It also features beautiful watercolour and ink pieces.
There are two beautiful pieces from the first book, an alternate cover of the novel, as well as a watercolour painting of the scene where D rescues Doris from Count Magnus Lee's castle.
As I said, this book was worth every penny I spent on it.
