Dear diary:
Mark taught me a card trick today and I went home and showed it to Tode and he said it was very good and that he hadn't seen it coming at all. Mom says that means I'm developing slight of hands skills whatever those are. Anyways I'm really happy it worked well but I'm going to keep practising until it's perfect and I'm going to get Mark to teach me a new trick next week.

Dear diary:
I'm sleepy so I'm only writing in you a little bit. Halloween was really fun I dressed up as Kushiel and I went around with Psy and Tode and Riycan collecting candy. I got a lot of cheezies and chips and caramels and well candy.
There was a lot of neat costumes people were wearing and a lot of the houses were decorated really awesomely. I think I really like Halloween. Anyways I'm really tired becuase the bag got heavy in the end and we got lost and I couldn't sleep last night and so I was tired anyways and yeah.
I have to go to bed now I have school in the morning.

Dear diary:
I almost have all my Christmas shopping done, I just have a few more people to buy for then I can relax and wait untill when I get presents from everyone. It wasn't easy to choose for anyone becuase everyone likes different things and I had to decide how much to spend on each person but I still got it all done.

Tiwaz glided across the ice silently cursing Riycan. She enjoyed skating a bit yes and enjoyed being one of the two family members who could do it half decently ( Her mother didn’t count) wasn’t too bad. The fact that practises that weren’t parts of lessons took up part of her spare time annoyed her to know end though. She didn’t really aspire to greatness in skating, it was a cool feeling to make it around the rink and not fall but it wasn’t the be all or end of her life.
Of course she was still learning to nail the basics in some areas so she supposed it might become more enjoyable when there was less frustration involved. Her crimson eyes narrowed and focused on Riycan who was calmly skating backwards around the rink. Somehow he’d picked up that new trick about a month ago and hadn’t stopped taunting her with it since. Tiwaz would learn it to be sure but she’d do it in her own damn time.
The chill air of the arena made her wings begin to tingle with numbness, she’d been practising too long and the circulation to the membranes was slowing. It was another thing that seperated her from Riycan, he didn't tolerate the cold well either but unlees he was in a blizzard he couldn't damage his wings through it. She on the other hand could cause all sorts of trouble for herself if she wasn't carefull.
Slowly she spread her wings several times to encourage circulation, watching the silver patterns on them reflected in the nearly clear surface of the ice.
Once her wings were normal again she refolded them and continued her skate. Perhaps it had been the change in blood flow or the standing still for a few minute but now her body felt sluggish and everything was so much more effort than it should be.” Riycan I think I need to stop” Tiwaz murmured heading to the wall.
As her hands touched the door a wave of exhaustion overwhelmed her and her legs buckled. She slid (only remotely aware of her brothers concerned yell) to the ice and passed out.

A new year approaches and I can only wonder what it will hold. This year has been hectic to say the least and yest it has been the best year I have experienced since I came to Gaia. For once everything seems to be coming together.
The loss of Tode to the family was rough but part of me believes that he will return as he promised to. Still I wish I could have stopped him. The family still clearly misses him greatly. Psy stops whenever he passes his old room. Tiwaz and Andrea still talk about the past and Riycan grumbles begrudgingly that he misses him from time to time.
Still , all has not been bad. Tiwaz has grown up a bit, she's physically bigger and matured somewhat. Whatever happened when she was gone seemed to have knocked some humility into her. She still won't talk about it but at least she's back and somewhat adapting to how things are now.
Riycan seems stagnant, he doesn't seem to want to do much lately and I'm not sure why. I need to get him back to the shop and see if being with his own kind will help any.
Andrea has come more into her own, friendlier with us and creating a definite sense of self. She still seems to love her plushies more than people but at the same time she's not completely shutting herself off.
Psy, ahh Psy my first and most confusing. He's been up and down throughout the year though Therapy has helped. The biggest breakthrough was after he redesigned his room. Letting his space be fully decided upon by him seems to have made him completely happy. he spends a lot of time in his room, but it's where he's most happy and he's not prone to keeping others out either.
Psy's also grown but not in the same ways, his mind is getting sharper and I can see him grasping concepts he never could have a year ago. he enjoys being competitive, usually against the computer but he and Andrea have lately been playing checkers and other board games. It gets the competitiveness out of both their systems and it's nice to see them enjoying something together that takes more effort than just watching t.v.
I'm not sure what will happen in the year to come but I will certainly hope it is as good as this year past.

Time for a change
January 5th
Talon twined a coppery red lock of hair slowly around her index finger as she watched Tiwaz stand in front of her and fidget. It was rare to see her eldest daughter so uncomfortable and all that had lead to this situation only helped to make Talon feel the same way as if she had failed her child.
With her free hand the woman pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed " Run this by me again please."
Leaning against a wall in her mother's office Tiwaz nervously shifted from foot to foot while continually tossing her orb into the air and catch it with her left hand. The young girl needed to keep moving or she'd go crazy " I want to go away to school, to a boarding school i even found one with open late registration. It's not in town but it's not really far away either and I can visit sometimes." The words started out a rushed babble but slowed as the dark skinned girl got herself under control.
She opened and closed her wings to watch the patterns change in her peripheral vision as she tried to arrange her next words as best she could. " I love you you're my family but I need to go away for a while. I need to be someplace else where things are always the same for a while" As she spoke the smoky orbs seemed to glow a soft faint white making it look a bit fuzzy.
Talon who'd deduced quite a bit about her child over the years understood exactly. A child of chaos or not Tiwaz needed stability and the sense of order she carried with her craved it after all she'd been through. Between the time she's spent gone her recent growth and changes in the family things had been too chaotic even for her, she was at an impressionable age and she needed to settle and find herself without so many upsetting events shaping all her experiences.
Talon nodded " I understand, I expect you to visit home at least once a month and I'll be making sure your grades don't slip while you're there." The visits were important the grades not so much but as a parent Talon felt required to say that.
Tiwaz nodded and cracked a small smile " I think we're even allowed phone calls every other week so I'll do that too and I'll always come home for holidays."
That was what Talon wanted to hear, this place as still home to Tiwaz if it hadn't been she'd have said she'd always come back. There was hope yet for her little lost child and perhaps this schooling would truly be good for her. it would be strange having her out of the house and it would change the dynamics there drastically as it had when Tode had left but how could she say no when it was the best thing for her.
" Give me the information for the school you've chosen and I'll look it over while you tell the others, be gentle and remember that it's ok for you to get upset." Talon knew there would be tears and harsh words She also knew that she couldn't interfere that Tiwaz had to fight this battle alone as her first step in really making a change for herself.
Not to mention that nothing she said would matter, this was a discussion among siblings, friends of the closest kind. She could bring them together afterwards and heal them but they needed to go through this first, to figure out how exactly they all felt before she could fix anything.
Taking the pamphlet Talon watched her daughter leave and close the study door behind her. With a sigh the woman lay her head down on her desk and fought the urge to cry. it hadn't been enough, in the end she hadn't been able to help Tiwaz grow up properly. It felt like she was was slowly losing her family and the redhead didn't know what to do.
She could rationalized this all she wanted it didn't stop her heart from hurting. With blurry eyes talon raised her head and bean to read the back cover with the information for the Green hills academy for girls.

January 20th Shopping for suppliesPd with Smerdle and raven arrikanez.Raven Arrikanez Raven looked down at Madeline walking beside her, and the other Madeline on her other side. The girls kept sneaking looks at each other and grinning. They seemed excited to be going to the same school together, it was really the first time she had seen her Madeline this exited. And she was glad she had told Archie that she was taking the girls shopping together, she didn't really care what the girl had done in the past and Archie hadn't seemed all that inclined to tell her either so she hadn't pressed the issue.
Madeline was excited, they were going to go get their uniforms and books for school and then Raven had said she was going to take them to the mall and let them get school supplies and schools for days when they didn't have to wear uniforms. Maybe she would let her get some extra books and she could sneak some books on magic so that they could learn easier on their own before they had to go look at school. And she was even more excited that she was getting to go shopping with her friend. She looked over to her friend to see what she was thinking.
Smerdle Danon didn't look over at Madeline for a moment, a smirk on her lips as she strode forward, eager to start her new life. She found it all too amusing that Jack hadn't told his supposed girlfriend who she was or what she had done, but that was fine for now. She had to be on her best behavior today. It was her word against his now.
She turned to Madeline and smiled. Uniforms and books weren't her thing, even if they did have magic in them, but getting out of her oppressive house was. ladyumbra The people who had arranged the placing of textbooks in the store were idiots. How was Tiwaz supposed to reach the book she needed for classes if she wasn't tall enough to get it. Honestly books should be placed height appropriate for the people in the grades that would be using them. Although Gaia did host a good variety pf species so who knew maybe it was the right height for someone still, it didn't help the purple haired girl any.
With her mother elsewhere in the mall and and Kushiel sitting at top the book in question and smirking at her the young tale found herself out of luck. She'd just have to go find someone who worked there. Glaring at Kushiel she turned on her heel and began to walk away from the shelf. Raven Arrikanez Madeline smiled back and then looked up at the books she needed, all the way up on the top shelf. “Well thats stupid.” And it was, how the hell could they be expected to get the books for their first year from up there, maybe it was a test. If so it was a stupid one.
Raven got the books for both of the girls and smiled. Then she noticed the other girl glaring up at the books, and got her down a set to “Here you go sweetie.”
Smerdle Danon clutched her books, giving Raven a 'thank you' nod instead of speaking. This strange winged girl had most of her attention now, even though the other girl was doing nothing more than getting her books, just as they were. Surely this was someone with power, or at the very least, someone who could intimidate. Danon supposed they were in the same grade, having the same books and all. She sighed. No time like the present to begin sizing up potential allies.
"Hello," she said, trying to come across as friendly and charming as possible while still remaining... female. It was ridiculously easy to slip up, and kids were better than most at spotting things that didn't fit. Madeline hadn't been phased, but others might be.
" I was going to kick it down to her eventually" Kushiel whined and glared at the woman who'd helped Tiwaz. Sure he'd planned to taunt the girl a bit more but he couldn't not help her get the stuff after all he needed to keep her agreeing to take him with her.
Tiwaz eyed the redheaded girl of the female trio. "Hello." Something in this unnamed girl vibrated as off to the tale and under the guise of stretching she unfurled her wings letting the silver patterns on the black membranes glow and change. It wasn't all the young Tale could do but it was a sign that like many on Gaia she was at least slightly magical in nature.
Raven laughed "I'm sure you were" She didn't really care what the pixie had to say.
Madeline looked at the other girl, her wings were pretty and she seemed not to be horribly mean "I'm Madeline and this is.." she didn't know if she was allowed to tell this new girl the name Danon was letting Madeline call her "Well, her name is Madeline too." She wasn't smiling but she wasn't being hostile at all.
"Yes, I'm Madeline," Danon said, confirming the spider girl's guess about which name the criminal would prefer, at least around people she didn't yet know. Her eyes hadn't left this new girl's wings since they had opened, and she was sorely tempted to comment, but she didn't want to seem too eager. Danon tore her gaze away, looking the girl in her odd eyes. "What's your name?" Her request wasn't hostile either, but it was clear the girl expected an answer.Kushiel just frowned but remained silent, there was nothing more for him to say really.
" I'm Tiwaz and it's ..interesting to meet both of you Madeline's." The tale wasn't sure what to make of the two similarly named girls, what if when they went to school together she tried to refer to one and got the other or both, it could be somewhat embarrassing.
" So, are you looking forward to school? Oh and the pest up there is Kushiel" She nodded towards the fairy who shared her looks. " But you can ignore him for the most part." Madeline nodded "I'm looking forward to school." She looked up at the fairy "Is he comming to school with you? Or are you leaving him with your parents?" Raven was content to watch the girls taking a few steps away to look over the uniforms while the girls talked. **** Since she had been prompted to ignore Kushiel, Danon did just that. "I don't care one way or the other. I'm fine with it, I guess. Staying at home would be worse," the girl said, her upper lip snarling a bit at being forced to call Jack's house 'home.' She stole a glance at Raven, hoping the woman had heard her comment, but only for a moment. "Whatever. As long as no one's a weirdo you're all cool with me." For now. *** Tiwaz understood preffering a place away from home to home. Though she'd gladly have transplanted her family elsewhere if she could have gone on living happily. For now though school away from home was needed. Folding her wings against her back she relaxed. These girls seemed nice enough. Looking at the one Madeline she grinned" Kushiel's coming with me , mom would have a fit if i tried to leave him at home, he's not the most courteous of guests at times but he sorta listens to me and we have a system." Truth be told the purple haired Tale had no clue why the chaos fairly listened to her especially since they weren't sent from the same type of chaos. " If any of you girls need help trying on your uniforms... do it your damn self" Kushiel said with a lazy yawn. He was no pervert and no show off but every now and then he enjoyed acknowledgment, plus he wanted to get this show on the road. The sooner they finished shoppign the sooner they went home and got food. TBC

February 1st
Meeting the roommate
Face red with exertion Tiwaz huffed in frustration as she opened the door to her room and dragged her suitcase into the room as Kushiel flew behind her smirking and calling her a rather weak warrior. The plum colour haired girl just growled and then gave a smirk of satisfaction as the big black suitcase slid across the threshold of the room signifying it's journey as complete.
"You know most suitcases have wheels just so you don't have to do that" Cassie drawled as she watched the girl whom she presumed was her roommate enter their shared habitat for the duration of the school year. The petite blonde girl found the look of the other girl as well as the.. fairy? That followed her to be interesting. Then again as part of the minority that was Humans on Gaia Cassie found a lot of the people here interesting.Tiwaz's crimson eyes narrowed as their gaze slid across the room and centered on the small blonde girl lazing on a bed on the opposite wall. The young tale debated growling a response but figured the unknown girl had meant no harm in her comment and that at least until she got to know her she'd best try to get along with her. She could always declare war or get a room transfer later.
" Mother confiscated all the wheeled ones to cart her artifacts around in I was lucky this old thing was hanging around. someone" she looked over at Kushiel who was now sitting on a dresser "Shouldn't have packed so many things. He's got more stuff than I do." This was both true and a bone of contention between the two . Tiwaz couldn't see why Kushiel's needed so much but she couldn't very well deny him things either she just wished she didn't have to carry everything.
As she spoke Tiwaz hauled the suitcase over to the empty dresser and began unpacking her clothes. Most of it was the school uniform, skirt and pant versions as well as a few changes of regular and gym clothes. beyond that Tiwaz had only packed a few books from home and her pile of textbooks required for classes.
Kushiel rolled his eyes but said nothing for the moment, he was just going to watch and judge the atmosphere between the two girls. Cassie nodded understandingly, she wasn't certain what to make of her roommate but at least she didn't seem to bad so far. " Boys can be worse than girls for hoarding things. I've seen it myself." Stifling a yawn the small girl stretched. " Name's Cassie but you can call me Cass. have you been to the caf yet? They've got snacks for all the new and returning students and now that my parents are gone I can actually grab some of the cake if it's not gone. "
Tiwaz placed her textbooks on top of the dressed and turned to once again face the girl she now knew as Cassie. " I'm Tiwaz and my small friend here is Kushiel." The girl nibbled on her lower lip and looked thoughtful. " I probably shouldn't have cake since I had some yesterday but there has to be something there to eat. let's go." " Bring me back something" Kushiel called out as the two girls walked away discussing favorite desserts. Ahh well, at least things looked decent for now.
