Sapphire smirked to herself as she walked, the shadows around her seeming to bend and twist with each step she took. She enjoyed the peace and quiet, there was no doubt of that. Still, even when she relaxed her mind was always thinking, scheming, searching for a new victim or another way to use one she had already found. Underlying it all, manipulating others was what truly brought her joy.
Not realizing she wasn't alone, she paused long enough to allow the cool breeze to run through her hair. It was comforting, at least.
