Well, at least I don't have to hear you going on about another Mass Effect book for a bit, but I'm still going to have to hear you go on about what they should do, right? (I mean this all with lots of wuv.)

damn, I have yet to find those books here...not translated yet, so I guess I gotta hit an english library...or some of those geek shops where the clerk takes 20 minutes talking to you about AD&D before actually answering your question...

Looks like Retribution might take place after the event's of Mass Effect 2 and continue where the story ended in Ascension. It will be an interesting read to see how far the IM will go to make sure Humanity comes out on top.
Here's the books story discirption from Amazon.com:
Quote: Humanity has reached the stars, joining the vast galactic community of alien species. But beyond the fringes of explored space lurk the Reapers, a race of sentient starships bent on “harvesting” the galaxy’s organic species for their own dark purpose. The Illusive Man, leader of the pro-human black ops group Cerberus, is one of the few who know the truth about the Reapers. To ensure humanity’s survival, he launches a desperate plan to uncover the enemy’s strengths—and weaknesses—by studying someone implanted with modified Reaper technology. He knows the perfect subject for his horrific experiments: former Cerberus operative Paul Grayson, who wrested his daughter from the cabal’s control with the help of Ascension project director Kahlee Sanders. But when Kahlee learns that Grayson is missing, she turns to the only person she can trust: Alliance war hero Captain David Anderson. Together they set out to find the secret Cerberus facility where Grayson is being held. But they aren’t the only ones after him. And time is running out. As the experiments continue, the sinister Reaper technology twists Grayson’s mind. The insidious whispers grow ever stronger in his head, threatening to take over his very identity and unleash the Reapers on an unsuspecting galaxy.

There's always the chance that this takes place a bit before ME2, but the chances are equal to it taking place after as well.
Only time will tell.

I picked up Retribution today. Maybe I'll write up a review for it whenever I finish it.

I got the book from the library the other day, I'll read it when I'm done rereading "The Last Ship."

Hopefully getting the book tomorrow.
But thanks to a few buttheads over at the BioWare forums, I'm pretty sure I know how it ends. Jerks. stare

Got the book, really good so far. (although one character's naming pisses me off a bit only because it's the same as one of mine. But then again, part of the reason I chose the name was for it to be a bit generic so that it hides a bit of his bad assery.)

Finished the book yesterday, and it's safe to say that I'm disapointed in it. It's probably my least favorite of the three. Will get into that a lot more either when my home computer gets fixed or when I'm at my brother's.
