bad healthcare is worse than no healthcare when it's mandatory. Right now the government is proposing bad healthcare with the longterm promise of no such thing as good healthcare options. Before you argue, imagine you get your front teeth knocked out or your vision is beginning to suffer or you find your kid is diagnosed as a transsexual. Now ask yourself what kind of care you would have with the government healthcare plan, and check to find out. You will be sorely disappointed.

On my health care they no longer offer fillings, only extractions, so I can imagine that. I opt to take care of the tooth until I can afford a filling. They have prisoners make my glasses and they work perfectly well. It's not "bad" health care, it's just minimal. And chances are it will be like CANADA where most people have their government health care, and those who can afford it also have private insurance that covers more. Which is exactly what BEEN like in Massachusetts. It's about time the other states took a leaf out of our book.

You know, I argued with some girl until my face was red, because she stated that only those who work should be entitled to health care. Ummm...not everyone can work. I wonder if she had ever heard of cerebral palsy. She then went on to tell me that Jesus has a lot harsher words than what she said...um...since when did Jesus advise against sharing?

Even if someone is just lazing about and popping out kids, I believe that everyone should be entitled to health care...and if anyone says that they shouldn't have kids if they can't afford them, I'd love to say that if they believe that than they should fight for the right for a woman to have an abortion.

Not everyone can get a job these days. It's hard, especially since jobs are dwindling from businesses closing down.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Also, to the OP, I don't really see the problem with Health-care.
The only thing I see is the National ID card and I find it funny how it has your DNA and is microchipped. >w>
Microchips don't exist enough to just be invisible, there are certain circuits and power that needs to be supplied to the chip for it to work. Not to mention the size needed can easily be found, and would cause controversy everywhere.
But that's besides the point, how did microchipping relate to this healthcare bill in the first place? The only relation I read had to deal with the racial profiling in Arizona, but it's not a large enough issue to do something that national nor would national IDs be made because of illegal aliens.

these people add in bad things in tiny incriments. like with income and property tax they at first set it to a really high number to make it seem like only the mega wealthy will be taxed but then the dollar value inflates and suddenly everone is taxed.

they make us want it or think its okay, failing to mention everthing in a fair open debate to the public,. if itr was really for our good then why in a hurry? why not tell everthing in the bill?

Because what they set in stone as what is going to happen is in the bill, what you mentioned is a guess of what will happen, which is a little unfair. You can't just say what you expect and wish for the bill to state in, then you'll just be complaining that the government shouldn't tax higher and higher on the middle class. The taxation is used to help full the health-care, but I don't mind spending a bit more for someone to keep living. It isn't that bad. So yeah, everything that needs to be said is in the bill, it's just really general and can make people sketchy.

Besides, we don't have a choice. There is no other way to get healthcare for the people unless from government spending and we are already stuffed up the a** with debt. There isn't else but taxes.

( Though I have a problem with taxation considering it is not a law. )

no they do increase controls and restrictions over time and even mention so in the bills that they will add more later.

That's not quite the same as having your DNA on file.

Just a little further than having your thumbprints on file. In fact there are records of people's DNA, usually used for Forensic Science or other crime investigation needs. All the ID would be doing is identifying you without fail since it is your DNA after all.

A lot of people just don't seem to like that idea. I don't like the idea of "them" having a record of my DNA. A fingerprint registry is one thing, but a DNA database is one more blow to civil liberties.

Well you can blame criminals and the like for that. It's a security measure.

seriously do you not know how advanced technology is or even low tech ways for people to exploit your dna now???

crime will always advance with the times.you cant stop it with measures like this people ALWAYS find ways to gain from it

That's easy to say unless you have no health insurance at all. My only beef with it is the fine for not having it. It'll be interesting to see how all of this turns out in the Supreme Court.

I like Vanilla's idea though. Too bad I'm not in government.

my largest problem is that it has your DNA on it. The problem stems from whenever i hear about how easy it is to genetically target someone with a virus using their DNA. The second problem is if the government has your DNA whats stopping them from just dumping our DNA into a pol and targeting it with say super small pox than every single person could carry the virus and only some people could get sick from it .
