Okay, so out of no where all of a sudden my computer has had several viruses and trojans and I don't get how. I have been getting on the same stuff I always do, nothing more. I don't think anyone else has gotten on anything different, either.
Anyone know a good way of getting rid of these fast and easy? Like, a good (free) downloadable software or something?
Have any of you had any viruses or anything such as these, and how did they effect you? Did you get rid of them?

NOD32's pretty great. See if you can get a copy of it. I think there may be a free trial.

For about a year my computer just accumulated a shitton of viruses. Finally when the computer was starting to go really slow and would randomly freeze did I have my mom call tech support. The techie was apparently in awe that my computer was still running with all the viruses it had. My computer may be old, and I may be in need of a new one, but I'm still damn proud of that. (Not the viruses but that we scared tech support by the sheer amount that it had taken and was still working) Anytime someone starts a Mac vs. PC argument with me, saying that Macs are so much more durable I tell them my virus story and it shuts them up, no one ever has a response. (Though, after a moment they usually start the "Macs never get viruses!" argument)
I use Spybot Search and Destroy and regularly sweep my computer now. I used to have another program that I would use to check for viruses too, because it would catch what Spybot missed and vice versa, but suddenly it disappeared and now I can't find it on my computer. And I don't remember what it was called so I can't redownload it. Spybot is free, just Google it and you'll find the site.

@Zizzy: There's a lot of people that seem to think that Macs are impenetrable. They're absolutely far more reliable than a PC when it comes to viruses, but they're out there nonetheless.

Yeah, I will give you that they get much fewer viruses than PCs. But I've thought out my points after many debates with some of my hardcore Mac friends. Macs do get viruses sometimes. But my dad pointed something out a while ago which made a lot of sense. Viruses are primarily written for PCs because they're more prevalent, making a much larger target area for a hacker or the like. As Macs are becoming more popular, the target area is becoming larger, so that hackers and their buddies will start turning their interests. That's obviously not the only reason people write viruses, but I assume that a lot are there to screw with people and why pick the smaller Mac audience when you can get many more PCs?

Okay, I'm trying to find anything I can. These viruses say they attack porn site visitors, but I'm not one to watch porn...? Any idea how these got on here? 'Cause I'm extremely confused.
Ohhh, my sister did get on my file. She got on this website where she dresses up all these different girls and whatnot. Would that count as porn? 'Cause that's the closest thing to it I ever remember even seeing on my computer. :l
I'm trying to think if anyone else I know has gotten on my file within the past week since the virus showed up, but my mind's blank.

They're probably just commonly found on porn sites. I'm sure they can be found on different sites.
Do you know how your sister found this dress up game? Did it require any downloading?

A lot of sketchy websites will have viruses. Doesn't have to just be a porn site, typically a third-party, bargain buy website will have one or two thrown in there.

Yeah, that's why I tend to stick to websites I know and don't click on weird ads. Like "Find out who's got a crush on you!" and the like. Step-dad did that once and got himself a Trojan.

Yeah. I know I've gotten viruses and haven't been on porn sites. But you can get them from files like downloads that are supposedly free softwares. I once got one from a software download. The software is free normally but I was having trouble with getting it off the main website so I downloaded it off they're mirror site which I thought would be OK. Happened to have a virus. It can be on ads. Like when downloading something from mega upload they usually have those buff yourself up kind of ads. I've never clicked on it but I wouldn't be surprised if it can lead to a virus or Trojan.
