A Levi writing experiment
Introduction
What? - Let's call it "Levi goes Hollywood". Some months ago, while working on a private novel project, and while listening to a certain instrumental track again and again (you'll find out soon what title it is), I got the idea for something like a sequel to my project, but based on Levi characters. It's an experiment in so far that I can't yet tell where this is headed at: There's a basic plot, some stations - the rest is improvisation at its best...at least I hope so. *grins*
I plan to present smaller chapters, or scenes, so it will be easier for me to adapt writing to my university workload (though my spring semester only start on January 25th).
Some weeks ago, I asked some of you if you would mind if I used your characters for this story. However, after thinking about this a bit longer, I decided to go a different way, also because some of you were a little nervous what I might do with your creations - and showing you the respective scenes beforehand everytime would have only ended up in unnescessary work for all of us. So, what I'm going to now is the following: Whenever possible, different Levi characters will pop up as cameos, as if your figures snatched a little credit role in a movie. Of course, I won't give names, but try to add some extra fun for you by letting you guess which character is I included in a certain chapter!
What exactly? - A large group of meta- and non-humans from the planet Gaia is sent to a parallel world, in large parts completely different from the Gaia we're used to.
The team we follow is part of said group, which again is part of a mega-project, allegedly to do nothing less than saving both worlds.
However, from the very beginning it is clear that something went wrong with the realization of the project: Where the group members were supposed to awaken directly to temporarily take over the lives of their alter egos and retrieve artifacts that accidentally were sent to the other Gaia, disturbing the balance of both planets, they were asleep for ten months...
Furthermore, what becomes apparent soon: There are no such artifacts in this world that could cause harm in any way.
What went wrong?
Or...was it meant to end up like this from the beginning?
And aside from figuring out the real goal or aim behind the "world-saving" project, some persons inevitably are confronted with the life their alter ego lead on this other Gaia, changing every further step they are making from now on.
Who? - Me, as your host and main writer. And Maximos, being the gray eminence and source of inspiration in this experiment.
When? - Starting now, January 2010. And it will last as long as it takes.
Anything else? - Questions, comments? Send me a PM.
Announcement - I'm currently in a quasi hiatus with this here. I definitely continue writing, but university stuff has been eating up more time than expected. So, my plan is to go on writing behind the scenes, so to speak, and then continue publishing new chapters once I'm four or five entries ahead. In this way I hope I won't have to make you wait again for weeks and months.
