(I don't have her cert yet, but she's in my sig. XD)
The forest was dead this time of morning. Well, except for the squirrel scuttling around in the tree above her if you wanted to take it in a literal sense. Rosemary was crouched under a rather large root-system of an uprooted tree. Her companion, James, had asked her to stay there while he went and hunted for them. He had a rather patriarchal personality when it came to their relationship...not that they were together. She often found amusement that most seemed to automatically assume they were romantically involved. But with the way they bickered and she spoke of him, it wasn't hard to jump to that conclusion.
"So long, Jimmy! I'm BORED!" She called over to shoulder to the frosty stillness. The squirrel nearly lost its footing and Rosemary tensed, waiting to catch it.
Slip, scratch, flail.
It didn't fall. The female sighed deeply, at the lack of a free handout courtesy of fate. The female retriever rose to her paws and set off with a high stepping trot, humming to a song that she'd heard a human hunter sing once. For all the world she acted like a puppy, which belayed her true age of four.

Tatsuya had wandered off a bit from the pack territory to hunt. He felt like wandering for a bit, not that he didn't like pack life but one needed some a lone time at times, right.
With ears perked he followed the freshest scent of a small rabbit. It was a while before he finally caught up with it. Tatsu crouched low and crept ever closer to the mini feast. Closer closer....wait what? It jolted off suddenly, but not from Tatsu. He blinked suddenly pulled out of his hunting trance. He perked his ears to an unfamiliar sound. What was it? Whatever it was, it sounded fun. Tatsuya followed the sound to see a golden trotting by. "Hello!" Tatsuya shouted to her before really thinking about it.

Rosemary was off in her own little world so when Tatsuya called out to her, she startled quite badly. "Oh!" She shook her head a moment to try and 'clear the pixies' as James likes to say. "Good morning." She laughed brightly. "I wasn't paying a lick of attention!" Honesty, you've got to love it.
"I'm Rosemary, by the way." She looked at Tatsuya, her nose twitching slightly. She smelled quite a few other dogs, their scent lingering on his fur.
Suddenly it clicked.
"I'm not trespassing am I?" Her demanour never changed. Afterall, this dog seemed friendly and if the rest of them were like him, it shouldn't be any problem. Right?

"Sorry I startled you! And good morning! Oh and my name is Tatsuya!" He replied with a wag of his tail walking a bit closer to the female with a smile on his face.
Tatsuya looked a bit confused for a moment before he understood what she meant. "Oh no no I've wandered off of my pack's land. I was in the mood for a change. Pretty cool you could tell I'm from a pack...do I look tough or something? " Tatsuya asked striking a pose it never dawned on him that he smelled like other dogs.

"That's quite all right, Tatsuya. I should have been a little more focused. But what fun is that?" She asked with a smile.
As the younger dog posed for her she couldn't help but giggle at him. "Uhm...I...wow, uhm, I smell your pack on you. But you look quite...ferocious?" She said, unsure of what to say.
"It's been ages since I've seen another dog that's my size!" She said, prancing in place slightly, tail wagging. "Are all the dogs in your pack our size?" Not that she'd ever dream of leaving her Jimmy.

"Indeed! If one is to focused they might actually miss something." Tatsuya replied.
Tatsuya looked a bit embarrassed by her giggle and answer. He shrunk back a bit and sat down. "Oh yeah of course........" Tatsuya pawed a the ground just a bit.
"Oh um no, my poppa is smaller then me and my uncle is bigger. So our pack comes in all sizes and walks of life really. Why?" Tatsuya was not really one to pay attention to size or breed everyone was the same to him.

Rosemary noticed his embarrassment and offered him a grin. "You're coming along, though it seems, Tatsuya." When he spoke of his pack she nodded.
"Oh, well I was just wondering 'cause my James is pretty small too. He's got the most adorable, stubby, little legs! But he can be really vicious when he wants to! He has a really easy time going down rabbit holes 'cause he's a lot longer than he is all. I think he's a Dachshund. I've never really seen such a breed in all my life before I met him." She was rambling again.
"What kind'a dog is your Poppa, if you don't mind my asking?"

Tatsuya snorted feeling as though she was just speaking out of pity.
Tatsuya's tail began to wag as she spoke of James he knew the breed pretty well. Looks like they sorta had more in common than size.
"My poppa's a dachshund! He hates it if you call him cute or chibi though....even though really he can be at times."

"Awww, well that sounds like Jimmy to a tee!" She beamed. "I wonder if that’s a breed trait…or just them being around bigger dogs and feeling badly about it?” Rosemary mused aloud. “And I’m dumb as a post sometimes! So if I say anything contrary, please don’t hesitate to point it out.” She said, going back to his snort. “I’m really sorry if I upset you, Tatsuya,” the retriever told him, sincerely. “I don’t mean anything but amiability.”
