Does anyone else love the Japanese Alfred Hitchcock? * I've seen High and Low aka "Heaven and Hell", 7 Samurai, the Bad Sleep Well, Ikiru and Dreams thanks to a Japanese film class I took at USM. I just love classics, and these movies still take me on a emotional roller coaster and frankly are a lot better than even today's movies! * So, what Kurosawa films have you seen?

I saw one of his movies...might have been Heaven and Hell. I know he's supposed to be a movie genius but...I just couldn't get into it. It was slow and I had no idea what was going on. ...mostly because I kept getting distracted...lol

I think you really have to be into old movies to enjoy it. I know my Girlfriend just can't get tinto old movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock so I know she couldn't get into Kurosawa since they have a similar feel. 3nodding mugoi_usagi I saw one of his movies...might have been Heaven and Hell. Eh...It's not that I don't enjoy old movies. Many of those old films have a special place in my heart (particularly Arsenic and Old Lace) but I think the real issue is that I prefer comedies. And...well...Kurasawa didn't make comedies! I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but if I'm not laughing or crying at a movie I get bored.

It is a completely different genre. 3nodding mugoi_usagi Eh...It's not that I don't enjoy old movies.
