I'll keep you my dirty little secret... As the title says.
I'm not sure why, but I feel a lot hungrier at school than I do on the weekends or days that I don't do very much. I think it has something to do with the fact that the brain burns a lot of calories, but I'm not completely sure.
On a regular day, I eat about 1 cup of cereal before school, about 1 cup of rice and some veggies for lunch and then baby carrots as a snack between periods. Do you think I'm just not eating enough calories?
Thanks! c:

You're probably up moving around a lot more when you're at school than when you're lying around the house. I experience the same thing sometimes, I think it just has to do with the fact that when you burn more calories, your body needs more to replace them. Kind of how you're way hungrier if you work out vs if you don't.

Do you get any kind of protein before dinner? Try adding some into your diet, ie: flax seeds on your cereal, or tofu in your rice/veggies. It'll probably fix you right up.

I'll keep you my dirty little secret... @freelance: Maybe. To be honest, exercise doesn't make me that hungry. The whole 'burn more calories = needs more calories to burn' makes sense though. Thank you.
@Seraphsody: Well, I'm not a big meat or tofu fan, but I love beans and nuts, so that's where I get all my protein from. I think I'm okay.

Do you guys have a morning tea/recess/whatever between periods and lunch where you can have a snack? We always did, having a muesli bar there or a low fat yoghurt helped me

I'll keep you my dirty little secret... I have about five minutes between each class; that's when I eat my baby carrots. Although I brought an apple to school with me today as well and I think that did the trick, because I didn't come home starving. c:

Hey! The same thing happens to me at uni. I would have a 20 minute break between lectures and I go to buy a snack even though if I were sitting at home at that time, I wouldn't have eaten xp This is the main reason why I gained weight in the first place.

Venom, if you've only got a 20 minute break, why don't you stay on campus and have tea from the caf? If you bring your own bagged teas and a travel mug it's free. (Tea on campus costs around 2.25 for the good stuff (canada) and I know that adds up)
You can get a bit of reading in or take a walk perhaps?

ЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖЖ . . . and you got burned! This exact thing happens to me as well. Especially because muffins are only $1.50... and a healthy wrap is $5. And when you're a broke university student, that $3.50 difference counts! That's like another two muffins! I always pack on the calories while at school. D: To the OP, it sounds like you're making really healthy choices at least, which is good. Don't turn to muffins and banana bread like I am. xD

@ Seraphsody : Well, I am on campus. There is just too much good stuff to be eaten while I am there. I'd drink a coffee instead (since I love coffee) but I don't want to get addicted to caffeine. I do spend the time with my group of friends, but eating kinda keeps me occupied, you know? I had thought of drinking water every time I feel like having an unnecessary snack, but I don't want to have to use the university toilet everyday. . . Sounds lame, I know, but I just don't like going there.
@ Wayne : All healthy food must be expensive and tasteless and/or disgusting sad
