I just generally don't like super futuristic fighting. Also, I had major issues with Gundam. [And other shows] Those are: 1. WTF ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE SO WEIRD. 2. The plots generally suck. And they don't even explain how the hell they got the Mechas, if they're so special. 3. ????? 4. Profit

For gundam they are in the army at least for some but not all. Seed's excuse was because Kira's an engineer student.
