Completely unashamed, Charlè shrieked. They were all going to die! All of them! Or, worse, they would let the cart go and he and the girls would be sent straight into oncoming traffic!

"USE THE CROSSWALK USE THE CROSSWALK!" After all, if they used a crosswalk there was less of a chance of being hit by cars. Manned or not, cars would be sure to stop for a rolling shopping cart.

"Absolutely not," came the chipper reply to Vino's question. He would have been flattered had he caught the Charlè's glance, but as it were, he was simply trying to wrap his mind around how this was at all a good idea, and thus missed most of the conversation and instructions as they made their way out of the safety of the building. Stet rarely felt that things were a bad idea - after all, almost everything was worth trying once - but this! This was a Very Bad Idea. Had he less endeavors to be a 'gentlemen' for his fairer friends, he would have turned around and gone back to dancing on the iBar.

And somehow (Maxwell bless her pretty little heart), East had the bright idea that the cars were in their way. Oh, she was a piece of art, that East, which meant he had to protect her even more recklessly than he would have cared to admit. "Sweet boy," he addressed Charlè, having assumed it was one of the girls who shrieked, "I'm not about to steer this thing beneath four wheels." His crimson eyes turned briefly upwards to make sure those within the metal cage were okay still. "Besides, Hero'd not have any of that. Would you, Hero?" Stet grunted a little as they moved over a bit of a hump in the road, glancing feverishly towards the traffic. He had a bad feeling about this...a Very Bad Feeling. If Kent wasn't on his side, they were definitely going to have a hell of a ride.

Stet's answer managed to get her to crack a smile as she shook her head, realizing how tense she was. Danger wasn't anything new, but she putting her own vulnerability into the hangs of others was. She would have felt better down, knowing she would have partial control of the cart, and thus of herself. Her, a control freak? Naw.

The excitement and slight danger thrilled Vino, quickening her pulse and living her grinning like a schoolgirl waiting to see what would happen at the end of the play. As they sped through the building, Vino gripped the metals bars of the contraption so she wouldn't fly about. As they came to the traffic though, she went a little, er, green....er. Realizing that the slight twinge was cowardice, she shook her head defiantly.
Being the closest one to the youngest drink, Renn glanced curiously when she heard his yelling.

"Shhh, Charlè!! We'll be alright, the guys know the wrath they'd face if they let us go. Besides, I don't know about you, but I'd like to go out in a big bang," Vino played as she climbed up the metal bars of the cage. Teasing about their death might not be funny to him thought. Reaching near the top, she peered out across the road, seeing that they had a clear shot to the other side if they did. The other side appeared to be simply more sidewalk. If she knew East, she may or may not go for the Crosswalk. While East would never purposely put their lives at too much risk, danger did have its appeal to the girl.

Oh, lord. They were all going to ride into traffic and become smears on the asphalt. He was sure of it. And he was so young! Oh, why had he ever come up with this idea?! Why had he even gotten involved?! It wasn't his place to be retrieving alcohol with the adults! Who would be back at the bar to tell Maxwell what had happened?!

"I don't want to go 'out' at all!" Charlè insisted, suddenly very aware of how close the cars were, and how big they were and how fast they moved. He wanted out! NOW!

Redd looked out into the traffic with a strange sort of grin on his face. It was more unsettling than any grin he had toted previously that evening, and Redd had many grins for every occasion, so that was really saying something. This was probably because Redd had never crossed a busy road before, and he lived for thrill. There was an intellectual solution to everything, and Redd got his kicks by finding them. Technically there should be a way to cross the street safely without using the crosswalk, as long as they timed it right.

However, he heard Charllè's shouts and sighed, tapping his hand on the side of the cart. On the one hand, he could side with East, but if the kid got hurt, Bentes would probably blame him the next time she saw him, and there was nothing worse than Bentes staring at him accusingly over a hardcover book.

He had a brief tussle with his conscience (or at least what passed for a conscience with Redd), and lost. Sighing again, he looked over at East. "We should use the crosswalk, East. I'm sure we have better things to bet our lives on than doing an errand for our flyboy bartender, yeah?"

He felt like he wasn't being properly flashy and devilish, but he comforted himself with the idea that he could risk his life with some other hairy stunt later when the little creampuff wasn't around. It wasn't wussy, it was just smart.

The thought didn't help much. Damn that Bentes!

"Awww, honey-child, don' worry none." Wirl said, giving the little horned one a pat. "S'just a lil' jaunt across th'street. Not hardly an adventure. We'll get a goin' an' be back afore chow."

Surprisingly, she wasn't that worried. "It ain't like they'd hit us, honey. People hate t'get their cars messed up. 'Sides, we just gotta get across when th'lil white man's in the light." She pointed at the crosswalk light. It was simple!

"Right!" Kent agreed, more than happy to provide dumb muscle. This was all a horrible idea and was bound to go wrong, but he'd do whatever it took to not send his friends towards their demise. "I've gotta live up to that nickname of mine, after all!"

"...Golly, those cars are big."
He mentioned after a look, muscles tensing a bit. It'd be a push to get it back up the sidewalk after they were on the street! But, he was stronger than he looked. "When we get across, Stet, it'll be a bit of a push to get it back up. We might have to make a running go at it."

Charlè peered down at Wirl, a frown still deep-set in his face.

"I know! That's why we use the crosswalk!" he defended. He may be a kid, but he knew you wouldn't get killed in a crosswalk! They were there for a reason!

"That you do," came the only half-teasing reply to Kent, very much not kosher with the whole plan but helpless to not lend a hand to the lovely ladies and charming boy. With Kent leading the muscle, he was really only acting as a steering partner, not near in strength as his friend was. Stet tried, all the same.

The instructions made him a little tense, but he understood that the green C*cktail would have more of an idea of what to do than he would. He was just there for looks, not practicality! "Aye-aye, Hero, you just say when." He tried to keep his replies chipper and easy, if not just for the boy's well being since the others seem inclined to tease and get caught up in the thrill. Stet was certain it was exciting for the fairer sex, but for the two playing push-the-trolly-into-the-human-world, it was slightly less glamorous. When Kent said go, he'd go, and hope for the best. "Everyone up yonder, best hold something less likely to jostle than yourself - just in case."
