so one time, i found out a guy i liked got a new girlfriend. i was i.m.ing him on myspace and asking a little about her. the first thing i said was "is she in band" upon him saying "no, shes a cheerleader", i suddenly didnt care about her lol
so share your stories of proving your band-geek-atute (usually unintentionally)

Once when we were changing out of our parade uniforms, a girl asked someone to unzip her(the jacket zippers are in the back). It waz then we realized only in band can you say "can u unzip me?" XD

once my friend asked what i did in band so i tolled him we where tonguing
he was like wow u guy make out with ur instruments
and i was like no u dummy i was tonguing 16th and 8th notes lol rolleyes mrgreen

Haha, i had a band geek experience just today in englishXD
So, my teacher decided to give us an expository essay due Friday, on anything we want. Well, we have me and two other band kids in this class. Anyway, so she was going over what we are supposed to do, and she is looking for an example. All three of us yell out band. So the example was band. So she iss itting here trying to think of stuff to use for the example essay and then we all start naming stuff off. I hope she realizes that most liekly all three of us will be doing band as our essay(i know I am!)

One time last year, I was playing baritone in a parade, and my shorter friend was playing sousaphone, so we put our bells together and player as loud as we could. 'Twas awesome.
Then, just today, he was playing tuba, and I had switched back to trombone, so I put my slide down his bell... God, we're strange.

in our arts focused honors english class (grade 11), there are three kids from band, me(a flute), a trombone player, and a drummer. we had to do an end of semester project on anything that related to the books we read, so we did freddie freeloader as a response to jazz in catcher in the rye. we can successfully say we were given a grade for hanging out and playing music every day during class for a week.

One day, I wore a G-clef rhinstone broach to school, and everyone was like "o_O".
Someone approached me, and asked how band geek-y I was.
So the next day, I brought in a whole bunch of accessories.

You know that sousaphone player who dots the 'I' in the Ohio State marching band? Well, my family and family friends had gotten together and were watching an OSU and something game. I can't remember who they were playing...
Well, they watched the guy dot the I and they started going... 'Look at that Tuba!'
'That's a shiny Tuba!'
'Go TUUUUUBAAAAAAA!'
I play sousaphone... and for some reason, it bothers me like hell when people call it a Tuba. Cause it's not a Tuba. It's a god damn Sousaphone. So I grabbed the remote, paused the game, stood up in front of everyone and just yelled like Hell.
"IT'S A GOD DAMN SOUSAPHONE!! SAY IT WITH ME! SOU-SA-PHONE!!! IT WAS MADE BY A GUY NAMED SOUSA!! SOUSA- F-ING- PHONE!!! GOD!!"
Yes... I was pissed...
