I like/listen to/play Mello Death. (Shortened for "Melodic Death Metal"..)
My favorite bands are mostly.. Foreign you could say. (Greek..Finnish..@-@..?)
I'm an odd person, but here's a list.
Norther (Favorite Band..x-x)
Ensiferum (Norther's cousin. Shared a lead singer for three or four years. Maybe six or seven.. I wouldn't remember.)
Firewind
Wintersun
Soilwork
In Flames
Just some examples and favorites; I'm also a fan of guitarist, in general.. Mostly Instrumentalist, or people known for there pure skill when it comes to scaling the neck! Some below are just favorites too..
Marty Friedman.
Paul Gilbert.
Zack Wylde.
Jari Mäenpää
Petri Lindroos.
Chris Impellitteri.

Wintersun - Beyond The Dark Sun! Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedman did a show together in Japan. Have you watched it yet? It's called "Rock Fujiyama", and I'm pretty sure it's Episode 27. I can't remember =[
